I agree,definitely the 3.91s.I have the 3.21s in my longhorn,and am getting around the same,but only have 1200 miles on it,so it should improve after break-in.

I'm from upstate NY and we always had problems with salt and rust.I used to use electronic rustproofing on all my vehicles.It's designed to keep changing polarity on the metal.Worked really well.
