A 4x2 truck is almost worse than a car or suv that is rear wheel drive. No weight back there over the drive axle.
You’re exactly right. These days you’d definitely be looking at the 30s.
Bad thing about Texas is the severe ice storms we get periodically. I can go anywhere today, in any of my...
I don’t regret not getting 4x4 because I do actually have 4x4 and am from Texas. Most people here that have trucks are 4x4. I’ve personally never purchased a 2x4 truck.
Same here... Most 2x4 trucks are stripped work vehicles that don’t get driven in this type weather.

If there was anything they could show simply switching to another OEM caused an issue with, maybe. I don’t think there’s any scenario that comes to mind on what could cause an issue.

I’ve been real interested to see someone who has put those reservoir shocks on theirs. I’m thinking of doing those. I think those are 5160s
Now that I’ve settled the front from jumping around on the back roads where I live, I need to do same to the rear.

Yes. RL minus the very top spacers 5100s on max height. I have about 1/2” of rake. Exactly what I was looking for.

Exactly. Unless they’re talking about the increased pre-load it puts on the spring making the ride stiffer? That wouldn’t actually be anything to do with the shock though.

It wouldn’t change any behavior about the shock at all. It just moves the perch a little bit. So I think regardless of using 0-7 the ride is going to be almost identical.

On setting 7 with the SST puck on top of the spring still in place as well.
The shop took out the spacer that went on top of the coil and let the shocks do the lifting for that part.

I think you’ve got to give them a chance or two to fix the issue before they have to buy it back. That really sucks to hear though!
Sounds like you’ve got a Monday or Friday truck there for sure.

I’ve had a lot of terra grapplers. Good looking, long tread life, tough tire. Normally I’d have bought those. Went a little more aggressive looking with the 35s and got some Ridge Grapplers this time around. I’ve only got about 5k on them. So far, I’m happy. But I usually find the true test of a...
I’ve got about 200 miles with the 5100s. Mine ride smooth. It feels like a truck still. But that’s to be expected. I’ve drove them off road, dirt road, and highway. All good. I’d be looking at tires too.

Oh yea without a doubt. I wouldn’t accept the deferred payments even if offered. It’ll be a 3month old truck that will still have a full term loan on. 84 months of payments doesn’t seem very financially smart to me even unless you drive under 10k miles a year.

The rule I go by is if I’m going to buy a diesel truck am I okay with having to do a delete and tune. The emissions equipment fell off my 2016 Cummins. Excellent truck after that. Voided the powertrain warranty in the process. But, I never had a turbo issues and didn’t have to...
