I believe I read that the recessed bolts were only used on the sides of the bed and not across the back at the cab. Why not there as well? This is for the Undercover Ultra-Flex that I am considering. Thanks

Did you use the Countersinking Flat Head Screws others are using? If not, that should gain you 3/8 to 1/2 inch of total clearance side to side I would think over the factory hexhead bolts!!

I also had the Idea of a different screw in order to gain some additional clearance. Was actually looking for a countersinking head type screw with a Torx Head requiring countersinking Pete's bracket holes. This would gain you a little over 1/2" overall side clearance allowing more recessed type...
