Thank you for that update! I was losing my mind trying to figure out how to turn off the horn on lock/unlock because the settings in the Uconnect system weren't taking hold.
Ok, so ... the new TPMS units were put in today. They had to force a re-learn, but things are now normal.
Note to anyone with a 5th Gen ... go with OEM TPMS sensors right from the get go if you need to replace them!
I hadn't read about too many problems, but it seems those posts are a bit scattered. My new units should be here tomorrow. I'll probably head to the shop on Monday to get them put in (providing AZ hasn't gone into complete lock down by then).
Ok, update time.
The Hypertech calibrator did its job quite well. The instructions leave a bit to be desired (like on WHERE to find the connection blocks, and not needing to pull them out), but things worked out. I made sure to get a good measurement of the tires up front. Plugging in that...
Ok, just got my baby home from the shop. I am MOST pleased. Here's the low-down:
MaxTrac 3" Front x 1.5" Rear Leveling Kit
KMC XD778 Monster 20x9 +18 Wheels
Nitto Ridge Grapplers, 35x11.50x20
There was a total of 4" of increased height, taking her up to 81". I'm glad it was only 4! She has...
That makes two of us! The wheels/tires/level kit/calibrator are all on order. Current plan is to get everything installed next Monday. Calibrator should be here between next Monday and that Wednesday. I will post pics as soon as I get them.
Ok, gotcha. For the now, I went with 35x11.50x20 Ridge Grapplers (got a decent price on them). If I have problems with the joints, I will probably go with a full lift system and replace everything, but the budget I have set up won't support that. If they can last a year or two of light use...
NH_Ram, thank you for the info! The Max Trac is basically "pucks" on top of the struts up front and the coils in the rear. I saw another thread (https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/toyo-r-t-35x12-50x22-2”-level.20290/#post-295461) from Boswurf putting 33x12.50s on stock 22s with just a 2"...
Howdy folks! I've been poring over the forums looking for info on level/lift/tires, and there is TONS available. However, pretty much everything I've found is for up to a 2" leveling kit, or a full-on lift. This thread seems to have come closest to what I'm looking for, but would still like...
Welcome! What part of town you in? Wondering if I've seen your GTX. There are so many awesome classics here, can't remember 'em all! I'm over in Mesa, almost AJ, but lived in Laveen for a year.
Hello, all! I'm a returning member to the (as an old friend of mine puts) "Big Dam Ram" club. Misspelling intentional. :P
My current ride is a 2019 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab 4x4 in Delmonico Red.
My previous Ram was a 1998 2500 4x4 Quad Cab Long Bed in (basic, mostly) Black.
I've had a...
