    Help determining tow capacity

I like to tell people on the trailer weight to use the GVW of the trailer for figuring numbers. That will give you a good number to work with, and the heaviest weight you may encounter. Trailer manufacturers in the brochures like to use a very stripped out trailer to entice people.

    2019 Ram 1500 5th wheel towing

Trailer brakes are not for stopping the truck. You are doing this because the trailer is waggin the truck. An appropriate size truck will not have this problem. For the new people to towing, if you see your trailer swaying (waggin), first is of course to slow down. Second is to manually apply...

Do options lower towing capacity or just GCWR?

I am curious as to why you say this. If in fact the sticker is correct for the lower number, either the truck has lost that additional weight since the factory weighed it, or if correct, the GVWR would be a lower weight corresponding to the payload number. Drop shank size

Couple of things you can do. Look up the specs on both trucks and see what the height difference is. Also, do you have the same size wheel. Looking at those will at least give you an idea of the amount of drop you may need. Buy a drop hitch that can do what you figured, and maybe an inch or two...

    Automatic side mirror tilt

I have a new '19 3500 with the auto tilt, and agree they seem to just tilt to the max they can. Useless for me. I turned them off, and since I have the memory for two drivers, I use one for normal, and second for backing up. Wish the original memory would remember where I adjusted the mirror in...
