I went with BDS coilover kit after doing some extensive research mainly because they have a good rep, good warranty and lots of positive reviews on ride quality.
If you do go with them make sure you register on 560plus.com which is supplemental drive train warranty for 5yrs/100,000 mile. I went...
Couldn’t agree more. I’ve had 3 jeeps with 3” lifts and running 37’s with no rubbing and plenty of travel. However my jeep did not ride anything like my bighorn so I guess there’s a trade off. Plus on a Jeep the wheels are outside of the body and at the corners which helps :)
So ive seen these for lifted rams as well, do you need a specific part# if you have a 6" lift? The sway links are longer with the lift kit so I would think the same part number works on stock or lifted
I would also go as far as to say this wasnt modified. Yes the truck was modified but this wasnt a stock arm or joint this was an upgraded arm/joint made for this lift to push those tires at that geometry. If this was stock arm and ball joint Id say yeah it wasnt designed to handle 37" tires and...
Do you know if either of the other 2 cases were able to get the failed parts out to BDS to analyze? Unfortunately I feel like without that there is no real way to get to the bottom of this
Have you asked BDS if they would be willing to analyze the passenger side joint even though it did not fail? My thinking is if they can verify both joints came from the same batch (not sure if they need the failed arm anyway) and there is no structural or metallurgical defect that would at least...
I think the only other BDS for our trucks with dcs is the 2” kit.
My opinion is BDS is still a good product. The red tape always sucks no matter what company you go with if there is a failure. There are lots of these lifts still on the road and if you do the research this kit is one of the best...
1 or 2 here or there and Id say maybe coincidence....3rd one now and thats just on this forum sounds like an issue...especially since i have this lift.
Id be curious to know mileage on each of these breaks and also how much BDS is looking into this issue before someone gets hurt or worse.
I...
Thanks! Ive been wanting coil overs since my jeep days so I decided to go for it and im very happy I did. The ride is great and I love the capability.
Procomp is a good company and has been around forever. My buddy has an 02 1500 with a 6" procomp lift and has never had any issues with it and...
Thank you! I went with the 6" BDS coil over kit w/DSC also went with their UCA's since the angles are better than the stock arms.
I need to get some better pics once the weather lets up.
ahh ok. looks great! I definitely had to do some trimming to get them not to rub. For such a big truck the wheel wells are not that big :)
This is my first lifted truck, I had lifted jeeps prior where you can throw on a 3" lift and clear 37's easily but then again the wheels of a jeep are...
I have to take mine back next week for its 500 mile re-torque and check up. I guess i just have to hope I dont have one of the defective joints. BDS has a great rep for their lifts which is part of the reason I went with them. Thank you for sharing and keep us updated if any new info comes up.
Wow this is pretty scary, glad everyone is safe. Especially since I had this exact kit just installed not even 3 weeks ago. I guess I need to keep an eye on things. Is there anything I should keep and eye or ear out for that would raise a red flag that this may be coming?
