You wont see any electric RAM rated to tow 11,000 lbs... :)
Boss bought a Tesla X (he's an early adopter and believes anything a democrat says).. hooked up a jetski trailer to it. got 120 miles and it went dead.. Auto Club just laughed.
Now it's just a grocery getter.
I'm still hurt that FAC wont allow the Big Horn to have keyless entry, but lets the Loredo have it. We all know it can be installed with simple changes but FAC wont allow it.
Hell, my son's decade old Prius has it...
..."After I convinced him to try a MO-889 Mopar filter "......
"This doesn't fit a 2019 Ram 1500 Longhorn Crew Cab Pickup 4-Door 5.7L 345Cu. In. V8 GAS OHV Naturally Aspirated"
We just sold our 2005 Grand Cherokee with the Hemi.. it's "ticked" when we got it a 60K miles. and still did it when we sold it at 200+K miles.
Do what you want, but predicting doom and gloom is only guessing. Our real experience shows a very different view.
My new 1500 has the same engine...
Ya, mine doesn't have that noise, just the random rattle for a second or two on startup. Same as my wife's elderly Grand Cherokee.
I've spent a large part of my life running and maintaining large radial engines on older planes. They all have some ritual you need to observe when starting - some...
Mine has that rattle sound when it starts. Usually when I start in the morning, or after it has sat for an hour or so in really hot weather (it often gets over 110 where I live) I'm about to take it in for it's 3rd oil change (16K miles). I had been taking it to the dealer since it's walking...
I would make SURE it had true keyless entry. why a Loredo has it and the Big Horn doesn't defies rational reasoning.
My Wife's 2018 Grand Cherokee has it.. My son's 2012 Prius even has it.. but not my 1500 RAM..
I know it's technically possible to add it.. but Chrysler wont allow it.
This is the first truck I've had with a factory controller, I had to add them to my past rigs. The brakes are working well enough but the add-ons I did were capable of locking the brakes up - this one doesn't. I keep the trailer at my second home and since I'm only there occasionally lately...
Same here.. other than an intermittant steering wheel heat (dealer replaced the entire wheel without hassle, even paid for my uber to work).. my 1500 has been fantastic.
I've read through this thread with interest. I've had 6 hemis in my lifetime.. only the first one wasn't new when I got it (1954 Firepower 331). Never had a problem with any of them. My wife's '05 5.7 Grand Cherokee now has 240K miles on it, My 2019 1500 has 13K. Both of them have that...
whats weird is, they sent the initial random number plates to me in the mail... they sent the plate for my trailer in the mail.. but they cant send the custom plates in the mail?
They gave me permanent plate for one trailer, but regular pay-each-year for the other...
and don't bother asking...
it's a 2014 that never went anywhere so, it's still basically new. Brake inspection is on the punchlist. Dealer put new tires on it and said they inspected the brakes but..... you know how used car (or RV) dealers are...
I've got a Kodiak that runs about 5800 lbs. When I set the controller for +10 gain and use only the controller, I get braking from the trailer but not much. Today I noticed that it says "light electric", is there a medium or heavy electric?
You're probably right.
I have two trailers, towed them both in these first 5000 miles, but neither of them were loaded to max and together maybe 400 miles.
I'll just stick to my personal 5K oil change intervals :) Oil is cheap insurance.
(Dont let the smallish appearance of the utility trailer...
