Hi there,
No, that's a tow bar setup, you are looking for a hitch I believe? This is a link to the Blue Ox, the SwayPro model, the best and most effective they have; SwayPro™ Weight Distribution Hitch with Sway Control | Blue Ox
Also, I lead you astray, I told you it had camber built into it...
I'm a Blue Ox fan. I had a Reese 10,000 pound PRO Series hitch for a number of years, relying on the truck electronics to help control sway. But in time i looked at the Reese Sway Kit, however, the issue with that kit is having to rely on lag bolts that you drive into the tongue of the trailer...
As noted by others above, the rear axle ratio is a separate optional item, so your only course of action is to change out the current gearing.
For the rear end it isn't all that expensive-a new ring/pinion set, some bearings, gaskets, crush sleeve. But the front, that's a whole different issue...
The question is, do you have wiring to the top port, the Fakra type connector, or is it just a blank back?
I have wiring to the 12 pin but not the Fakra port.
I have a wiring harness going to the back side of the 12-pin, but there's just plastic on the back side of the Fakra connector.
I can empathize with your thoughts on your dealer being of no help, but fortunately, I've got a phenomenal dealer to work with, at least on the parts side. My Ram Parts...
Good morning mark92a, your timing is impeccable. I've been communicating with Jimmy 07 in the background about this very thing, specifically the DVRM w/Trailer Mode, as the Owner's Manual as well as at least one YouTube call it.
As with you, I have the trailer camera connection point just left...
I'm on my 4th BAK Industries Revolver series.
The pricing is reasonable, they are very watertight, with the tailgate closed it's almost impossible to breach it. And best of all the Revolver takes up absolutely no bed space.
I'm still trying to get the rear bumper camera connections sorted out.
Here are two photos of what is there; the bottom 12-pin connection is, I would imagine, for the AUX 1 and AUX 2 inputs, and the top single FAKRA is for the Digital Rear View Mirror Tow Mode camera, by virtue of the pictogram...
I had a FitCam X on my '21 10th Anniversary Longhorn, and it was great, at least for my purposes. The thing I liked the best is the way the camera itself is tucked into the rear view mirror housing. Unless you know what you're looking for, it's not really that readily visible.
Unfortunately...
I've noticed that the HU display on my '25 Longhorn LTD isn't displaying level on the windshield. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm going to talk to my dealer tomorrow to see if there is an adjustment for this.
I realize that this is quite early in the 2025 Model Year to be sourcing camera connections, but has anybody found which cable is to be used from the camera connection-the Fakra connection not the 12-pin-for the trailer camera that is at the left of centre on the rear bumper?
Any input will be...
Thanks very much everyone for all the feedback, and I am now coming to terms with the fact that the MFT doesn't have the Power Up feature, but I wish that Mother MOPAR would be indelibly clear about this, Yes or No.
Even my dealer friend isn't sure about this, and he's reached out to the Ram...
Does anyone have a 2025 with power multifunction tailgate? My new Longhorn is supposed to have it but the power raise of the tailgate doesn't work, only the power release/lower. Any inpit will be greatly appreciated.
I ordered a 2025 Limited Longhorn, essentially full-load, on January 25th. The order was acknowledged about four weeks later, but I didn't get my VIN until May 20th, and then the third week of July we finally received a production date of August 2nd. It has been confirmed that the truck was...
So here's something interesting I've just found out.
On the 1500s, and possibly even the HD trucks, on the rear bumper plastic step, there are two red lights on the vertical surface. I've seen this on the the European LX Platform-based cars, the Charger, 300, Magnum, and Challenger. On those...
So, the question has been bounced around in other places, but this thread is about purchasing a 2025, and only that.
For me, I ordered a '25 Limited Longhorn on January 25th, and the dealer only got the VIN(finally) on May 20th, but no clearly defined schedule as yet. In talking to my dealer...
