Alpine System sounds bad
Not sure if you ever figured out the solution. I was having the same problem, but solved it by turning on Sound Check in the Music Settings. I know have the treble booster on for the EQ preset in the phone and no distortion/crackling. Again, not sure if this will solve it for you or others, but...- scwida
