Welp - my Tunsten build showed up earlier this week. However, the build date on my order kept moving, and at one point had flexed all the way to 1/20/25, I had to pivot to a GMC Denali (which I really do like).
I went to my dealer to grab the refund of my deposit. (Zero hassles; they’re...
Here's the build. If memory serves, I selected every feature that was available at that point in time. (For example, one of the colors wasn't available, nor was the 2kwh power option.)
Re: the Denali Ultimate - I really do like it. I do a decent amount of highway driving and GM's level 2...
My Tungsten order (placed 7/5/24) has now flipped to in production as of last Friday.
'In production': 11/6/2024
'Estimated Delivery': 1/20/2025
Unfortunately I had to pull the goalie and couldn't wait any longer so I bought a GMC Denali Ultimate (and already have over 3,000 miles on it)...
Received a voicemail from my dealer yesterday. My sales guy has done a good job of trying to keep me informed, even though he gets fed almost no information from RAM. His voicemail was almost comical in that I had a build date; no date; build date again; no date - and nothing currently to be...
The 2kw power system isn’t yet available. I’m surprised they simply built the truck without it though. It was the prevailing thought that those trucks would just be delayed until that option because available. (Like late late this year or into next year)
Sucks that the dealer didn’t let you...
Their version of a PDI and my version can tend to be slightly different. I bought an Expedition once that had front end damage. (New unit) Somehow that made its way through their PDI and it was a eye-opening moment for me.
EDIT: My comment is general in nature and not anything related to...
When I was climbing into the truck, I noticed the inserts immediately and (to me) it was pretty cringe-worthy. I kind of thought any Limited package was kind of sacred.
I’m punting on my Tungsten and have agreed to terms on a new GMC Denali Ultimate. I may give RAM another chance when the RamCharger comes out in a few years and most of the kinks worked out.
After having my Rivian, I think I’m going to take a step back from bleeding edge changes (drivetrain...
What I witnessed on Saturday wasn't a suede either. It was closer a fabric of some sort. I remember also seeing a YouTube video somewhere that showed this, but I probably couldn't find it again if I tried.
That is definitely possible that the Level A does include full leather, I simply do not know. I do know that the Limited I sat in did NOT have the Level A package because the Level 2 Autonomous driving eye wasn't on the steering column. I hadn't thought about the Level A adding that feature...
Per my dealer as of 05 July 2024, indicated that the 2k power inverter isn't available until late in the year. If you have one ordered with that feature, I'd probably expect some delays as they have deactivated that feature in the ordering platform for now. Don't shoot the messenger.
I sat in a RAM 1500 Limited on Saturday and it did in fact have the "cloth" around the side and shoulder areas on the seats. (not solid leather) I was pretty taken back as it screamed that they are trying to save a buck... but on a Limited trim. I get that the Tunsten trim is now the top dog...
For the life of me, I can't get any of these trucks to show up on eShop when I try select nationwide and barely any criteria selected. I've tried 3 different browsers too (Safari, Chrome, Edge).
Here is the site I'm looking at: Search New Ram 1500 Inventory - Vehicle Color, Engine, Price...
Well said and I completely agree. I'm warming up to the Denali Ultimate and might just let the dust settle on the Tungsten. As much as I'm impressed with what it brings to the table, there just seems to be red flags hanging out there.
So I decided to look at a GMC Denali Ultimate 1500 today. It was nice in alot of ways, but missing several things that attracts me to the RAM. Price is about $7k lower on the GMC (and that is without “negotiating”). If my Tunsten build date keeps slipping, then I’ll entertain the GMC, but I...
