It’s the PCM and throttle body, have them clean the throttle body and reset the PCM to factory. If that doesn’t work your PCM may have to be replaced. I had an after market tuner causing part of the problem but after they removed that, and reset the PCM back to factory it’s been running smooth...
Thanks, the dealership was finally able to figure it out. I had a pulsar after market tuner and that plus some PCM issues was causing the throttle body to not always open. So they removed the tuner and reset the PCM to factory and since then absolutely smooth riding!
Yes it seems to have worked. I did have a pulsar after market tuner in that was removed as well and then they reset the PCM to factory. It’s been about a week though and seem to have had no issues. My dealership has a guy who has worked on these trucks for years so he identified it pretty quick...
So my dealership is saying it is an issue with the PCM and they are confident that resetting or replacing the PCM will resolve the issue. It’s stemming from something to with the communication between the devices and the throttle body which seems plausible and the reason it’s intermittent. I...
Nope cleaned my throttle body still been happening. Swapped out the crankshaft sensor still happened, it’s been at the dealership for about a week and they still don’t know what’s wrong. It’s pretty clearly a defect in the software. Ford just did a big recall cause of something similar. Not sure...
