You are spot on here. I flushed a gallon and a half of coolant out of the radiator (about half of the system) and refilled with the peak. Did the old school method of burping (with my custom funnel!) heat on, got up to temp, revved, opened and closed tstat multiple times, restarted multiple...
For the record what Brand 180 tstats are you guys running? I assume OEM is only available in 203. Also what tuners are you using to reprogram fan speed and the like? Thanks!
Shouldn't the shutters be wide open at that temp? I see why people remove them now. May put that on the bucket list too. From what others say that have done the tstat is it def brings down temps across the board. I get that no matter what tstat is in there the system still has a hard limit on...
I think my oem thermostat is fine, but it is designed with daily driving in mind. Works fine under normal driving. Towing heavy keeps the RPMs up and in turn heats the coolant up much faster. The coolant temp is going to be hotter at certain engine spots than others, its not exactly the same...
These temps are at 60-65 mph with around 50* ambient, so plenty of cool air flowing into the radiator. Im not sure a fan is going to add anything at those speeds, but I could be wrong there. Seems like letting the coolant flow to the radiator earlier in the heat cycle / more often would help the...

Flow is the same pressure when open yes, but flow volume is increased due to the Tstat opening earlier in the heat cycle. So it will bring temps down when driving due to the air flow. Sitting in traffic with the fan on, yes it wont be any different than the OEM.
This is not true. When they are closed they flow very little and keep the coolant in the block via bypass ports. If they always flowed the same there would be no point to it. Tstats open when they reach a certain temp and allow the full flow to the radiator. Thats why lower tstats circulate the...
I do not think its an efficiency problem because it runs 200-210 when not towing. While towing a 6k camper, into the wind no less, i was in either 5th or 6th gear most of the time at 60-65mph. This is 2000-2800 rpms for extended times which just does not happen when not towing a heavy load...

Replaced the spark plugs. All 16 with new NGK. I was surprised NGK is what came out factory. I was expecting mopar. 82k and 3500 hours. They were showing some definite signs of degradation and wear.
Im not 100% sure, but the other style screen is just 1 ribbon connector vs the 3 ribbon connectors mine has. The best bet is the pull the center trim (easy 2 screws) and then pull the metal cover off the back (4 screws) and you can see the screen type. I would recommend using some good masking...
