Yeah I'm not sure. If I was designing it I would have the shock stroke small enough that the link couldnt switch between the two stable positions of the link. I guess it's possible they installed it wrong with the tensioner clockwise past the point where it's in a line from pivot through the two...
Belt route looks okay to me, we drove it for a week so i cant imagine we hadnt used the start stop yet. The hydraulic tensioner is rotated clockwise jammed against the spring tensioner on the right side. The hydraulic shock is angled instead of vertical.
