I've noticed with my Hurricane S/O the engine operating temps can really fluctuate.
At highway speeds running the A/C it can run as high as 223 degrees then slowly drop to 198 then slowly creeps back up continuing this high/low cycle.
With my previous 5.7L the engine temps stayed around 208...
That's how I did it. I removed the kick panel at first like on my Laramie but there was stuff in the way.
The uconnect has 2 screws in the top tray then pick a corner and yank it out since it's all snap fit.
I installed the RHO switch on my 2025 Rebel with my previous Laramie it was easier access to the switch now it's blocked with modules etc.
To install I first removed the 12" uconnect then remove the shifter and bezel.
I then reached from the where the uconnect was to depress the switches upper 2...
This is it exactly. In the old days there was a turbo timer that would idle the engine for a period of time before shutting it off so that the turbos would cool off better.
Now there are electric water pumps to help with that task.
The turbos get very hot and it's important to cool them off...
Seems like 3,000 miles is a good point for changing the break in oil I did mine at 1,000. Put in exactly 7.5 quarts and keep an eye on it.
I installed the J&L catch can on my S/O and after 2,000 miles it has caught only a table spoon of oil.
On my 3.6L Gladiator that J&L 3oz catch can would fill...
I was driving down the highway and got a CEL for the first time after 10,650 miles.
Doing a code scan it says a P0441 is 'Evaporative emission system incorrect purge flow' .
I cleared the code too see if it was a fluke or a actual reoccurring problem.
Has anyone had a P0441 code display on...
I could see needing the 3oz extension for the 3.6L I couldn't believe how much oil got collected in my Gladiator.
This is my S/O Hurricane after 1,600 miles it might be a table spoon of oil.
Perhaps the person building my engine actually measured the proper ring gap.
If you want to keep that cam and roller lifters happy change the oil every 5,000 miles.
For me I use 5w-30 in my past 3.6L, 5.7L and current 3.0 S/O my 392 used 0W-40.
I installed the RHO switch today they have really changed allot with the electrical for 2025.
Where there was easy access to the switch previously is now blocked with modules etc.
It was more effort than I anticipated but it's done and looks nice with the Rebel's Red interior.
Don't worry it's won't throw codes.
For me after 1,000 miles it's hasn't caught enough oil to even cover the bottom of the can.
On my 3.6L Gladiator it would catch allot of oil after 5,000 miles the 3 oz can would be full.
I'm waiting on the part but I have done this on my Laramie. It's easier to remove with the knee panel removed (2 screws and several snaps). There are YT vids that explain it better.
