So you want to tow a camper! Discussion thread.

Update to my situation. I actually "measured" my hitch weight. Dry was advertised as 660#. Measured = 975#. I took another look at my eaz-lift WDH. I have one rated for 1400# max tongue weight. My spring bars are 800#. So, I think I need to get either 1000# or 1200# spring bars (thoughts?). I...

So you want to tow a camper! Discussion thread.

Learning lessons here…. I estimated tongue weight. Today I measured with a scale. Came out to 976 lbs! I’m thinking my 800# bars need upgrading.

So you want to tow a camper! Discussion thread.

Thank you for your response. I am fairly certain WDH is set up correct. When hooked up the trailer is level, front fenders on the truck come up less then 1/2”, bars sit parallel to the trailer frame. I’m not sure what else I can adjust, unless I need 1000lb bars (currently at 800lb). Maybe it...

So you want to tow a camper! Discussion thread.

I just ordered a set of these for my 1500. I'm good on spec for tow capacity (according to my calculations). I have a tradesman with the max tow capacity for our trucks. Towing a Coleman 2455 BH, 5700lb dry, 662 hitch weight. I'm using a eaz-lift 800 (10,000 gw, 1,000 tongue). When the WDH is...

    Bilstein 5100

Ah, that makes good sense! It's definitely the plastic liner, just didn't think about it being warped. I have a heat gun, sounds like it's time to go to work!

Thought I would share my experience, and looking for some insight. I have a ‘19 tradesman with ORP. I had Bilsteins put on the front (rear is stock) and set to the 5th ring (I’ve been under the truck and counted). I’m still about 1.5” low in the front! I recently picked up some stock REBEL...

TPMS reset after changing wheels and tires?

I’ll try the battery today. I’ve got nearly 100 miles miles on the new wheels / tires.

TPMS reset after changing wheels and tires?

I just put a set of rebel wheels / tires on my 5th Gen 1500. I increased the tire pressure to 45psi (up from 32) and noticed that all 4 sensors were reporting as such. The old wheels are sitting in my garage 10’ from my truck. The next day, all sensor showw as missing? Any ideas?

    Bilstein 5100

Rides great! I'm getting it pushed up to the correct setting tomorrow, but super happy with how it feels as of now.

    Bilstein 5100

I found a photo several pages back with a set put at ring #5, and you can count a full four rings. Mine were installed incorrectly. I'm working with (hopefully) the shop to get it fixed. Glad I looked into this, thanks for all your help!!

I'm counting 3, but maybe you can verify before I call the shop again (called them this am and the owner told me he verified it was set to 2"). Unless I'm looking at this wrong they set it to position #4 which would only give me 1.5".

Hmmm. I can count 3 rings and then the spring seat adapter. Does this mean it's set at #4? Sure looks that way. Ugh...

    Bilstein 5100

I had these put on my tradesman (with ORP) yesterday. Prior to install I was expecting to get pretty close to level. After the install I still have quite a bit of rake? Kinda bummed.... Any ideas? I called the guy who did the work to verify he set them to 2" (#5). He said he double checked...

    Bicycle Hauling

What hitch racks are you all using? Looks like the Thule will work? I have a Rochymounts splitrail and the tailgate hits the rack when it's down, even if I tilt it all the way down at a 45. Sucks because if I want to use the truck bed I need to pull the rack off... URG!

    Bed rattles over bumps?

I notice it as well. Went camping last weekend over a VERY bumpy road and it was terrible to listen to. Bed of the truck was empty for part of the trip, was hoping I was just hearing the camping gear bouncing around but it still did it. I looked under the truck twice since and can't find...
