    Low mileage '21

I bought a '22 with 15k miles. It was certified; the dealer told me the prior owner traded it in for a heavy duty. It has 33 gallon tank, 3.92 axle, trailer tow package. He must have been disappointed with the low payload capacity of the Limited? Or maybe didn't like the eTorque? Either way, I...

    SHTF preparations

Add 12 gauge, particularly if you live in a rural area where you can hunt. I live in rural Nebraska...grouse, dove, quail, and a few pheasants around. Geese pass through on both migrations, spring and fall. A good shotgun can be useful for home defense, and can also put food on the table.

What's your favorite wax or detail spray.

Yeah, I'm pretty confident I can get it looking decent if not really good.

What's your favorite wax or detail spray.

Following, as I just acquired a '58 F600 from my father in law and it needs a polishing pretty bad. Pictured here, and a couple of gratuitous Deere pics (because I can't let the Farmalls be the only ones pictured). A 1949 M, and my father in law driving the 1937 D in his hometown parade.

Safety chain shackles that fit the hitch?

I wouldn't trust that quick link to hold, even though it is rated at the 3300 pounds. That would be a very weak point if those safety chains were ever needed. But you don't need that spring clip on the hook...a pair of pliers will take that spring clip out of your way easily, then just hook it up.

    Best Dash Cam

I got the FitcamX and installed it earlier today. It is as easy to install as they claim, though I did not direct wire it for parking activation, nor did I wire in a rear camera. Just the basic vanilla front cam. Took a screenshot of the first image from the cam, looking across my shed...seems...

    What else in your garage?

I'm probably an oddball with what I have in my shed... A 1937 John Deere D, fully restored. It was in my father in law's backyard, rusting with weeds growing up around it. He said we could have it, so we found a local guy to restore it. Here he is driving it, and he has driven it in the local...

    Gas mileage

Took the same drive today. Had a light tailwind just about the whole way. I did take a short drive off route (had to go to the good meat store and get a fajita kit and some bacon). If anything, that should have hurt my mileage a bit. Pulled 24.1 for the trip today, about 3 MPG better than the...

    Gas mileage

It's a trade we know we make when we make our choice. I have 3.92, and know I'm giving up some MPGs. But I do enough towing that I am willing to make that trade. That's why we have options as buyers...and it is a good thing.

    Gas mileage

From sea level...Wiles Barre is 525' above sea level. I have wondered how much of an impact gradual elevation changes have on mileage...

    Gas mileage

A huge part. Strong headwind? -2 MPG. Strong tailwind? +2 MPG.
