Truck is jerking/jumping when going slowly - 2020 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Laramie (no etorque)

The rpm’s go up a bit when it does it. See video. I wondered myself if it could have anything to do with fuel, but we’ve been running mid grade since pulling. I actually filled it with 92 when it started (half tank) just in case.

Truck is jerking/jumping when going slowly - 2020 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Laramie (no etorque)

It's in 2wd, and nothing changes when turning, generally going straight.

Truck is jerking/jumping when going slowly - 2020 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Laramie (no etorque)

I have also now checked by putting the gear limit to 8 and it still does it. It also doesn't show it trying to go from 1st to 2nd, but just staying in 1st.

Truck is jerking/jumping when going slowly - 2020 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Laramie (no etorque)

My husband was holding his foot steady at that speed, and generally when it happens. If that is what is happening, anything to be done to fix it?

Truck is jerking/jumping when going slowly - 2020 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Laramie (no etorque)

We bought the truck with less than 7k miles. Now a few months later and we have just under 10k miles on it. We just started noticing this issue and we’ve been traveling pulling our 6k lb travel trailer from OK to FL. This generally happens when going very slowly, like in a parking lot or...

First visit to the CAT scales

Front height of wheel well with the WDH is right at what it is unloaded, or extremely close to it, like within a 1/16 or 1/8”.

First visit to the CAT scales

Thank you. It is towing very well and the measurements of the wheel wells and trailer level are good when we adjusted the WDH. I’ll have to figure out how to do some adjustments to it to make it more even. It has 5 washers in the Fastaway E2 hitch. Dealership didn’t give me any extra...

First visit to the CAT scales

We are fully loaded with the travel trailer and we’re able to make it to a cat scale today. Only did one weight though with WDH engaged. With these numbers, it appears we are over our GVWR by 160lbs 😞. Steer Axle: 3440 Drive Axle: 3820 Trailer Axle: 5820 Gross Weight: 13080 Truck door...

First visit to the CAT scales

Thank you very much, that is super helpful. We are pulling out tomorrow and will stop at a level parking lot on the way out of town to make sure we are all set.

First visit to the CAT scales

Thank you. Yesterday we went ahead and unhitched and the trailer at level (have the levelmate pro installed) the trailer coupler was at 22 3/4". The truck ball was at 27 1/4"! I knew it seemed way too high. We ended up dropping the ball 3 spots and it is now at 23 1/4". @Mr.Grid Thank...

First visit to the CAT scales

I was wondering about the proper level of trailer when setting up the WDH. We recently got a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie with 20s and the dealership reset our WDH for the truck and our trailer. The tech doing it got the trailer level (22 ft dual axle) and then he actually raised the ball on our...

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Went to the station yesterday and was down to about a 1/4 of a tank and put in 20 gallons. Thinking that should have been fairly correct to full at 33 gallons. Probably should have tried to get it close to E to really test, but was an hour from home and at the cheapest gas station.

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Thank you. I'm kicking myself for not filling it up when I left. I only put in 17 gallons because I was unsure about the third strap not being there and if there would be too much fuel in it if I was to have someone try and to the third strap. I need to go today and make sure that it will...

How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

Anyone know if my truck might have the necessary equipment for the adaptive cruise control from this pic? 2020 Laramie

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Well, got the truck back from the dealership today. I really wish I would have just done it myself, but don't have a lift and my husband really didn't want to mess with it. The first tank I got had one of the knobs to attach the heat shield broken off, had to wait two days for a replacement...

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Since you say bolting on isn't as sturdy, but yet it doesn't need too much support for the tank, do you think if the tech is willing to install the bracket in the proper spot at the time of install today that I should go ahead and have him do it? I could then decide if I want to mess with...

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Thank you for all the links and info. What you are saying about the 4th gen T bracket is what I was thinking was my best method (if I do add it). I ordered the 4th gen bracket and the 33 gal 3rd strap for 5th gen. Install is tomorrow at the dodge dealer, thought about asking the tech if he...
