I wanted the Built to Serve edition and that was how it came. I almost didn’t buy it because of the etorque. They only made 1000 Built to Serve in the color Tank. If it should fail then I will put a TRX drive train in it. That’s my ultimate goal.
Yes it does have the 48 volt battery system but it doesn’t have an alternator it’s a small generator to help the truck take off from a stop when the engine has turned off while stopped at a red light. By eliminating the auto stop/start it’s pretty much the same as normal V8 vehicle.
I immediately bought and installed the auto stop eliminator the same day I bought my 21 Ram. It was fairly easy to install. No problems with the way it works. It remembers the last position that you used it so mine stays off. If for some reason you wanted to use it then you just turn it on and...
I’m getting 13mpg but I’m still running the stock 3:21 gears. I’m still trying to find someone that can weld in a 4:88 ring gear for my front differential.
I did not install the body lift myself. I had both kits installed at the same time. I thought the same thing about the tow hooks but when I tried to install them I figured out that they would not fit. I even tried swapping them and flipping them upside down but no luck. Here’s a copy of my invoice.
The tow hooks are mounted to the frame and the bumper goes up with the body lift therefore longer bolts won’t help. I’m going to install lights in the bumper where the hooks were located.
I did loose my tow hooks with the body lift and the amp power boards do attach to the body so there’s no problem with them. I also have 2” extensions on my boards so the wife can get in easier and now they hang down from the body a little bit. Here’s a picture of the boards with the extensions...
I’m running a 6” suspension lift and a 2” body lift and 37”X13.5”X22” Toyo’s on 22”X12” Fuel Rebels on my 2021 Built to Serve 1500 with absolutely no problems.
I almost passed on the purchase of my truck because of it having the e-torque but I wanted the Tank colored Built to Serve edition! While I was at the dealership I researched the start/stop function and found out about the auto/stop eliminator and decided to go ahead with the truck! I purchased...
I only added the start/stop eliminator to my truck and I just drive in the tow/haul mode to keep the mds system from actuating! If I decide to use the start/stop all I have to do is turn it on and it remains in the last position used!
I guess I’m just old school and don’t believe that it is good to have so many things that could go wrong unnecessarily. I also believe that the mds system is a major problem with the lifters, cam shaft and top end of the valve train!
