Is the finish on them the same? I'd ask about process in the production to get a better idea. Seems concerning if they are the same even down to the hardware.
That is impressive stuff. I guess if I wasn't cleaning and painting I'd probably have figured it out or at least I'd like to think I would
I don't have any but I did pick up a set for my father on his birthday. He's 10 hours away so I couldn't grab them. I should probably research a good set...
Very impressive! It would have taken some time me some time to figure that one out. I'll have to save that in my memory bank. 🤪
Its better than it was... I baked it so its cured
I cleaned them up the best I could and have them in the oven now. I need to make it drivable quicker than the parts will get here.
I have a feeling there will be some other suspension changes in the future so Ill get them now.
The struts perform exactly the way they drove, boat like. They do...
got her a part finally. The vice grip didn't work as I planned but did work. I was actually able to tighten the bolt up so I ran the nut back and forth while spraying it with PB blaster and it came off
I do have new control arms or I wouldn't have used something that destroys them or cut them. I have several removing tools and have never had to cut a bolt like that before but a bigger tool wouldn't have fit it in the same space.
I tried putting as much pressure on the hat/top to jamb the shaft...
The front is fighting bad. First the upper control arm would not disconnect from the upper ball joint. I tried a 2 different forks and it was a no go then I went to my ball joint kit. The bolt was so long I had to cut in order to use the tool.
I got my new kit for spring tool and I'm really...
Ive never used any color before on them. I'm 100%re they said it. I may go back and look to remember who recommended that. I don't think thats a good thing to tell people
Its finally coming together and I've made a punch out list. My spring compressor decided to give up last night.
It didn't break but it sure got close enough I didn't feel comfortable with it. I was able to get a new one by 5pm today.
I watched a video where they were recommended RED lock tight...
I was buffing when I got started with this. I got the Milwaukee m18 buffer and orbital and then the m12 sander/polisher 🤪
I didn't want compound flung all over black plastic.
You are not alone! I've been fooling with this project for a month but I kept finding stuff to do.
Looks good. Maybe I'm missing something but I thought I had to have spacers so the wheels would fit?
Passenger rear finished tires on the ground but front frame in the air and 70 psi in the air bags
I guess its just the angle because I did measure. The jack stands aren't perfectly spaced so the slope is different
I officially start the front tomorrow 🤪 It shouldn't take as long since I'll be...
It takes a bit of digging but if I had to live with it Id be ok.
I was wondering about that. Seems a little extreme for some reason I tought -12 made wheels flush. I'm going to bed my brain is done when simple things liike offsets confuse me. 😵💫
I'll check into that. I think 1 to 1.5 will work out fine. I heard something about staggered in my research which is something I've never done before on a 4X4.
I do NOT like the skateboard look at all and I feel that like I'm approaching that with 1.5. We will know soon once its on the ground...
