I consider operating conditions, mileage and time of year. Is it diety looking on the stick? In your present circumstance I would change the oil before you go assuming you have had this oil thru the winter. It's full of cold starts, condensation, and excess fuel from cold starts/warm ups. All...
I chose the Cooper AT3 4S as well. They are a little lighter in weight than most other AT tires. They ride and handle just fine. You might get a slight increase in gas mileage.
For my money and purposes, they are a great choice for me.
Another source might be the spare tire. It looks OK at first glance. Make sure it is fully inflated and snugged up tight on the cable. One of those things we all ignore until we don't, because we need it, and it's about as flat as the other flat on the truck. Over time they will drop a few...
I had that happen about 3 trucks ago. Bought it new, failed at less than 20,000 miles. Only happened at start up, blue smoke. Turned out to be bad seals on the valve guides. Pulled the heads, changed the seals problem solved.
Do you see any oil in the radiator, or radiator reservoir? That...
I went with Cooper AT3 4s 275/55/ 20 (severe snow rated) when I replaced the OEM Duelers. No regrets or complaints about them. They have handled everything I have encountered with ease. I don't find them any noisier than the Duelers they replaced. The Duelers weighed in at 41 lbs and these...
MDS is the system that shuts down 4 of the 8 cylinders in your engine once you reach cruising speed, if the truck senses all 8 cylinders are not needed to maintain your cruising speed. Lots of debate about the value of the system. Some like it, some do not.
We all bought trucks for whatever reason we wanted to buy them. I wouldn't know how to act without one! Trucks are not famous for getting good gas mileage, even within the truck world. No looking back now. I think they are built as well as can be expected for gas efficiency. At the end of...
Do you wear glasses? Are they polarized? If you sat on the right side and another person was driving the truck (gasp!), do you see the wavy pattern? Just asking some questions to think about.
Are you in a wintry, wet part of the country. In and out of the cab with wet boots/shoes etc.
Decent floor mats in that the carpet does not get wet?
Is the carpet and padding underneath dry?
Have seen post here with wet cabs because of faulty weld seams between the cab side and main body...
They never ever live long enough do they. I've had to do this same thing, it never gets any easier no matter what.
These humble creatures give us all they have for as long as they have.
When we know they are suffering we owe them a humane end. I see it as the final act of respect and love...
I learned about Boxer's from my Grandparents as an infant. Grew up with their Boxer. 60 + years later an it's still Boxer's. I can't imagine not having a Boxer or two around.
The story behind my avatar is this. One day last winter I was sort of rough housing around with them which...
I've always been a Boxer fan. The top photo is Emma, she was the grand lady of all we been blessed with.
The middle one is Gracie, she is always near by and up for anything.
The bottom is Sadie. Always watchful. Wants to be in the middle of whatever is going on.
Never a dull moment with...
As long as there isn't an obvious bulge then it is most likely just cosmetic. Keep an eye on it to make sure a bulge doesn't develop.
Looks more like a bad boy scar.
Looks like you are setting it up for some off road use. I would go with the 3.92. If you have any idea of going up in wheel and tire size you will be glad you did.
I don't get off road, but I did go with the 3.92 for me. For me I wanted the grunt of the truck on the low end where I use the...
In Florida I would give a serious look at Michelin's Defenders. Second choice would be Cooper's AT3. I replaced the Bridgestones with Cooper AT3 4S last fall. The 4S means it is a severe snow rated tire. I chose the Cooper's over the Michelin's because I'm taking a family member 90 miles out...
Mine is fairly accurate as far as I can tell. I very seldom run it lower than 1/4 tank. It keeps the fuel pump submersed and cooled so it doesn't ware out any faster than it has too. Now the gauge on the Harley, that is purely for entertainment purposes. I always, without fail reset the trip...
You still have a new engine with not that many miles on it. My new gas mileage wasn't as severe as you are describing, but I'm set up differently. Mine finally got better after 7 or 8 thousand miles on the clock. I stayed with stock tire size when I changed last fall to Cooper's AT34S. The...
