My tailgate looks the same as yours, with the mismatched point there. Mine is also loud over bumps, might have to replace that bushing like Sascwatch said.

No problem. I know these trucks fairly well under the hood but when it goes past the transmission I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm not sure why wetting the driveshaft/rear diff would cause clunking. Very strange.
