Thanks man. Yea, I heard the Rough Country speedo calibrator helps smooth out the shift points though. It’s like $250 but I think I would get it if/when I go up in size. I still have about another year left on these OEMs.
From what I understand, it’s a mix of weight and diameter. There’s a handy gear ratio calculator on tiresize.com that I’ve been playing around with. The larger diameter reduces your effective gear ratio which can lead to gear hunting on the highway and and slower times off the line (if that...
Side note, if you add rear wheel well liners, I bet it would look even more full. I have them with my 32’s and it helps a bit when looking from the side.
Looks great man, thanks. If I didn’t have the 3.21, I’d probably go 34 or 33.5. I’m a little concerned with going larger than 33. I do think the 33 fits nicely though.
For me, looking at it from the side, the fenders indicate rake, but the truck looks level. Some guys have said the same thing to where if you lay a long bubble level down on the running board or hold it up to the side of the body below the doors, it will show about level despite the rear having...
Man, I didn’t read this whole thread but I have a 4x4 non-ORP and did Bilstein 5100 on #4 for a 1.3” front end lift and it’s damn near level. I bet if I loaded the bed I’d be nose high. Don’t measure fender gap - it’s misleading. If I didn’t have the 3.21, I would’ve gone 2 inches up front and 1...
I’m in the same boat. From what I understand, the OEM shocks aren’t designed to accommodate a 1 inch lift (achieved either through a spacer or extended coil springs). I don’t have the ORP package and found a set of the ORP shocks (new takeoffs) on eBay from a reputable shop for around $50 shipped.
@turtlehead91 posted some pics of his in another thread. I’m interested in getting them too once they release a color match for maximum steel metallic.
Congrats - I like those wheels. I couldn’t swing tires this year, even with the Buy 3 Get 1 sale from Ram. IMO the stock 32s don’t look terrible on the small lift, so they’ll do for now. We’ll see how I feel after the raising the rear an inch though.
Same here, but probably 285/60/20 or 295/55/20. Want to stay within the T or S speed rating. I like the Toyos and their 295/55 is a T-speed rated E load range tire, T being the same speed rating as the factory tires.
Ah, so that’s what that is for. Found myself covered in Seafoam at a gas station because I didn’t depress the second flap when I poured it in. Ended up borrowing a pen from the gas station attendant to hold that flap down while I poured.
It would be the same. The smallest rear spacer I’ve seen for the 5th gen is 1”. I would just get the shocks and do it right man. Bilstein and Eibach both make rear shocks to accommodate a 1” rear lift. They’re about $200+ for the set. ORP ones are probably even cheaper. It’s easy to replace them...
