Considering how long the Hurricane isssue/problem thread was on this forum and all the videos posted online, yes it had "teething" issues in the 1500 out of the box. However, where did I say it was a design problem? Problems that require you to go to the dealer, especially the headache...
Not sure it's plagued with issues, no more than any other engine in the market right now. I've had my Hemi for 7 years now and not a single issue or engine light until recently, which was because I had to replace the battery, went away after I put a new battery. Pretty cool my original battery...
Something interesting, TRD Jon, a well known YouTube Toyota creator, previous owner of Tundra V6 turbos and V8s, recently stated his RAM RHO with HO Hurricane is his favorite truck up to now. He did have some initial issues with engine lights, but they seem to have figured that out. Even with...
Probably due to CARB and the 17 states making up over 40% of new vehicle sales.
Yes, the Trump administration revoked CARB's waivers but it doesn't end without going through lawsuits, which can take years. By then, likely a new administration will reverse it anyways, so manufacturers are...
I would check for leaks on the interior floor, specifically the front edge of both the front seats.
The heater core is something to keep an eye out for in the RAM. Should mine eventually leak out of warranty, I'm just going to disconnect the system, similar to the A/C mod but making it...
Lol, no shotgun because I'm afraid to damage anything.
However, when the alarm goes off (I get an alert on my phone), usually around midnight, by the time I run down the stairs and into the driveway, little guy is too far away to hit with the water gun I use to scare off cats.
As long as there...
So, for the last couple of years, I've occasionally seen little footprints around my engine bay, especially the engine cover.
I naturally assumed it was a mouse or a rat, luckily I never saw any damage, chewed wires, etc. So I didn't bother too hard to get rid of him.
But one day I was...
Not sure, but that's what it is. I would Google why that is yourself.
Even the HD trucks, like the RAM 2500 Powerwagon 6.4l vs a regular RAM 2500 6.4l, it goes from over 17,000 lbs to only 9500 lbs on the Power Wagon, mostly due to the suspension setup. Both weight and drivetrain are nearly...
Correct, total weight, the TRX engine is heavier than the RHO engine, being that's the main difference between them, should account for the difference in towing.
The suspension I'm taking about is the RHO, TRX, and Raptors are so much lower than their regular 1500s is because of the suspension.
The TRX has 162hp more than the RHO but has even lower tow capacity, about 280lbs less than the RHO. Similar to the Raptors, their long travel suspension is what lowers their tow & payload capacity.
However, when compared to the 5.7 Hemi in a standard 1500, the Hurricane 3.0L Standard Output...
Those could be the best looking aftermarket fender flares I've seen on a truck. Love the subtle design with the OEM shape (but larger) and the small front indentations. Just the right amount of detail without over doing it. Where did you get these?
I'm not sure I would call the Hurricane simple either because it has two less cylinders. It's DOHC with twin water & oil cooled turbos, electronic wategates, electric water pump, high pressure direct injection, etc. Also, the Hemi has been around since how long now? I suspect it's production...
Really, that's surprising, even with current amortization cost, it cost more for Stellantis to make a 5.7L Hemi than a Hurricane? I would have assumed once they geared back up and began production again it would go down, but sounds like it more expensive regardless?
Absolutely agree it needs...
Make sure you don't have an oil cooler leak causing that "clump of mud" on the dipstick. When the engine is cool, check the radiator cap as well, clean up anything you see then check again later to see if you are still getting oil/water debris both on the dipstick and radiator cap.
If so, have...
I think it was more than that, it was definitely not just the lack of a Hemi, but a mixture of prices and perception due to that certainly played a role in the sales drop. An angry minority can certainly effect a silent majority on perception of a vehicle or anything for sale.
The V8 is back...
I'll have to drive both, but since my next Rebel will be purchased in the Philippines (they only sell the Rebel edition over there), I also have to weigh the insurance and registration that larger engines have in that country.
Which engine does better idling for hours in 90F heat and humidity...
Yup, as Steve mentioned, the way our TPMS system works, you need to get the air pressure at or sometimes above the recommended level for the warning to go away. Once it does, it will allow the normal lower variance you had before. I'm not familiar with your truck's spec, is 3.1 bar the...
