how often is everyone changing oil

I follow the dash indicator, which works out to 10,000 miles. So I trust, but also verify occasionally by sending a sample to Blackstone. They always come back with a passing score. The last one I did for the 2020 even stated that I could go 12,000 miles between changes based on their...

Unpopular opinion(?): I like the 4th gen styling better than 5th gen

The 2500 does look great, I agree. But being stuck with some of the 4th gen features would suck for me - I really like the telescoping steering wheel since I'm 6'4" and sit far back and my arms are just not long enough :-p

    Ferraiolo1 Ram Sport

I have a soft spot for regular/single cabs, and this one is a beauty!

Unpopular opinion(?): I like the 4th gen styling better than 5th gen

First: I love my black 2020 Limited truck. It's as comfortable as a luxury car and has all the bells and whistles I could ask for. Everything works, and most of it works well. Many things in 5th gen truck make the drive more comfortable, such as telescoping steering wheel and the roomier...

Tire pressure after going up in tire size

There is a website where you can enter your data and it will give you the pressure to set tires to. I used it when I went to 305/45 22 on my Limited. One moment.... Found it: Tire Pressure Calculator

Conventional motor oil or synthetic from factory

I have always followed the oil change counter on both our 2014 (190,000) and 2020 (80,000), which with our driving styles is always 10,000 miles. Every now and then I send in a sample to Blackstone and they always come back with a recommendation that I could go longer if I wanted :) I stick...

    2022 updates/improvements over 2019 summation?

Interesting. I drive a Limited with 22" wheels, and am looking to switch to 20" or even 18" for better comfort and wider selection of tires. I also wish I had gotten the 6'4" bed, since the shorter bed won't really hold my motorcycle very well. It also looks better IMO, especially if you lift...

My RAM saved me in a freeway crash

If you would rather have it totaled: ask for a rental car for the duration of the repair. The costs of the rental car is included in the decision whether to total or not, and with a repair like this it will add up and likely total the truck.

    Broken Manifold Bolts

on our 4th gen the bolts were replaced at 100,000 miles, and it's at 190,000 now and no problems. 5th gen had them replaced at 30,000 and it's now at 80,000 without problems. So looks like replacement is for the long haul. BTW, this should be covered under drive train warranty.

    Phone Holder?

You could program an NFC chip to trigger your phone to switch on bluetooth whenever it gets near it. Place nfc chip by the charger and problem solved. This works great on Android, not sure about iPhone.

    Charge for Software Update?

FCA will most certainly charge you for updates outside the warranty period. They tried to charge me for a regular (non-navigation) update for our Challenger, but I declined since it was working fine without it.

    Looking for a new shotgun

Can you comment on, or point me to a source on the different states (and federal) requirements regarding traveling with a shotgun/rifle? I'm aware of what I need when I travel with my handgun, but not so much with long guns. Thanks.

    2022 1500 Squealing sound.. Help!

Can you hear when you play these videos from youtube (not your local file)? I tried with headphones on, and can't hear it (but I'm >40)

    Cancelled my order

Shortbox Regular cab? Must be new? I owned a regular cab with the 6'4" box and that was the shortest one available on the regular cab. A fine truck BTW, and I miss it, even though I replaced it with a 2021 Limited. Column shifter and bench seat should be standard in every Ram :-)

Looking to Mod my new Longhorn for MPG

speaking as a current owner of a 2014 Big Horn and a 2020 Limited, the best thing for fuel mileage improvement IMO would be to go to smaller rims and tires. Getting that mass rolling really seems to hurt my mileage in the Limited (22"). All of the other Ram-installed fuel improvement measures...

    Towing the new camper

Nice camper! Q: why did you set the transmission to limit to 7th? Doesn't tow/haul mode take care of transmission settings?

harman kardon is nothing than a bag of trash

Doesn't really matter what source I use, HK just doesn't sound very good to me. I currently play uncompressed FLAC files from a USB stick, and it is terrible - all highs, no lows. Truly ear-piercing sometimes. I changed the balance to be much more to the rear and that alleviates the problem...

What are you using to clean/shine your wheels?

I had this sitting on a shelf, used it to clean my bike. Tried it on the rims, and it works great: https://www.s100.com/portfolio/s100-total-cycle-cleaner/

Bicycles with tonneau, preferably tailgate up

Retrax sells a tonneau cover with tracks that you can mount a rack on for bikes or anything else that Thule or Yakima etc. make.

Do you recommend the factory 4 corner air suspension?

2020 Limited. Love the air suspension. No problems so far (70,000 miles). Even smoother ride than regular suspension. Also like how I can raise truck when I'm going off pavement, and how I can lower it to the ground when I am washing and detailing it. Finally, when I have a heavier load in...
