    Of course! Thanks.

    Digital Key setup 2025 Laramie

Over there they mention possibly having an additional wave of "testers" at some point. I went ahead and registered and sent my VIN just in case that happens and it gets me SPAAK a little sooner.

That really stinks that @RamCares did that over there and didn't give us peasants here the opportunity to get in on the first wave (whenever it finally does roll out).

    Ram Box silver cargo rails

I've had Retrax and BakFlip (hard tri-fold) in the past. Then I put a Bak Revolver on my '19. After having that for 3 years, I put another Revolver on the used '21 I bought and I now I have a Revolver on my '25. I like the Revolver SO much better than I liked the couple of Retrax's and the...

    Radar detector mount options?

See that light pole in the second pic? The one you can only see a bit of between the rear view mirror and the dash? Yeah, I don't want half my view of that blocked by a radar detector hanging there. Where it is does not block my view of anything I need to see. I can still use my sun visor just...

    Radar detector mount options?

My visor still works just fine. It's in front of the visor and up high... I can't see the detector when the visor is flipped down, but I can hear it and my phone (running SpectreNav) shows me the same info that the detector displays.

    Radar detector mount options?

Replaced the suction cup mount with a $10 semi-permanent mount from eBay. Done now and very happy with the results.

    Radar detector mount options?

Now, I could just put the whole Valentine 1 in a weatherproof enclosure with a clear front and put it in the grill, and then use my phone as the remote display. :) Which is pretty much what I am doing with it on my motorcycle. Stick it inside my tankbag where nobody, including me, can see it...

What did you do to your Ram today???

I ordered this $10 bracket off eBay. Stick with 3M tape to the glass. Even better than a suction cup. And only $10. https://www.ebay.com/itm/115249357749 Where it is now, I can easily reach the RD itself to hit the Mute button. And - THEORETICALLY - I will get better radar reception with it up...

    Radar detector mount options?

I think I've settled on my (more-or-less) final answer. Up high, with a Gen5DIY wiring harness for power. https://www.gen5diy.com/collections/19-20-ram-plug-play-harnesses/products/19-20-ram-radar-detector-harness

What did you do to your Ram today???

I added a radar detector. Valentine 1 Gen 2 with a Gen5DIY wiring harness to run it using power from the mirror. https://www.gen5diy.com/collections/19-20-ram-plug-play-harnesses/products/19-20-ram-radar-detector-harness I tried it first down at the bottom of the windshield, taking power from...

2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

I switched my fuse over today to make the 12V power outlet on top of the Uconnect (i.e. on the dash) turn on and off with the truck instead of being always on. It was a huge pain to figure out which fuse needed to be moved. I swear it is not in the location that the owner's manual shows (in its...

    Radar detector mount options?

I wish I could run JBV1. But, I had an Android phone for years - until Google seriously screwed me over. I switched to an iPhone and I won't go back to running Android. Apple is bad, but Google is far worse. And I have no interest in having two phones and having to monitor them both for...

    Radar detector mount options?

There are smartphone apps nowadays that will connect to your radar detector and also use the GPS in your phone and monitor flight data and will actually tell you if there is a police plane/copter in the air near you...

    Radar detector mount options?

I generally only go 10 over in my truck - and I haven't had a ticket in my truck since 2011, I think. But, I just got my first ticket on my motorcycle in 10 years. On it, I stick to 10 over for normal cruising ... usually. Sometimes, in some carefully chosen places, I may exceed the 10 over...

    Radar detector mount options?

Yeah, I wouldn't be worried about it dropping if I have it down at the base of the windshield. I was really thinking about the possibility of having it suction cupped up high, next to the DASM/Rear View Mirror area.

    Radar detector mount options?

Where would be better? At the top, just to the left of the DASM, where it only blocks a view of the sky? At the very bottom, where it only blocks a view of part of the hood? Looking at your picture, the RD is quite clearly blocking the view of part of your refrigerator. Duh. Is it a huge...

    Radar detector mount options?

It seems like, if you can see the V1 display under the RVM, then it HAS to be blocking SOME amount of your view of the road... I got effed by Google a couple of years ago, when they just deleted my account with no recourse to get it back. I lost my cell phone number (which I had ported to...

    Radar detector mount options?

Most radar I've seen in police cars has been right on the dash or right on the shelf in the back window. I.e. as low as it could really be mounted other than putting it on the front or rear bumper. Not all. Most. And the sum of my personal experience still only qualifies as "anecdotes", not...

    Radar detector mount options?

You've mentioned a couple of times "especially with a vehicle that is taller than most police vehicles." Can you explain that? It seems to me that being tall and having the RD mounted very low is a detriment when the radar source is lower than the truck, not a positive. If the truck were tall...
