    Flowmaster...Borla...Magnaflow???

My wife had much the same response. I find that the Flow FX sounds much like stock, only more-so. It rumbles at low RPM and low speed, but it's not obtrusive. It "talks" when you hammer it, but it's not obnoxious. Not by a long shot. My main requirements were no drone, and not so loud that I...

Anyone ever pay off your truck early and get threatened by dealership that you are responsible for a penalty?

FWIW, my refinancing, not refinancing, or paying off early, was never discussed with my dealer. Verbally or contractually. I was only halfway considering a re-fi (or a payoff) and then the bank showed me a button that said "payoff amount". If you offer it, I'm going to go for it. But thanks...

Anyone ever pay off your truck early and get threatened by dealership that you are responsible for a penalty?

My dealer gave me a 5.2% rate through a third party lender. This with a ~800 credit score. Think I felt bad for re-financing? Not for a millisecond. My credit union even gave me a "new vehicle" rate. Said that people do this all the time. And make no mistake... the dealer will bend you over at...

    Exhaust question

I just got my FlowFX installed, yesterday. Instead of going with the direct fit for $310, I opted for the basic muffler, and had my local shop install it. Cost me $175 installed, and took about 20 minutes, in and out. Retained the stock muffler in case I hated the FX. (I know why it's described...

    Disabling Seat Belt Reminder Chime

I also disabled mine, using the procedure posted above. (Thanks all.) We occasionally have to drive across a rather rutted pasture, on the farm (It's why I bought this truck - a 4WD, in the first place.) I'm never going fast enough to hurt anything, but the seatbelt snatches you around, if it's...

    The Poor Shifting Transmission Thread

I really like the way mine shifts, except for when it jumps down into 1st when I hit the gas at a stop sign. I would be just as happy if it remained in 2nd unless I really hammered the gas from a stop. I'm sure that FCA could modify that in the programming. I'm not sure they WOULD, however. I...

What's the No. 1 thing that disappointed you the most about your truck ?

I hate the "auto park" thing, when you're trying to back up with the door open. I get it. It's a "safety" feature. But there should be an "interlock" button that you can press, before you shift into reverse, in order to defeat that system, if you're going to have the door open. Some people use...

Stock sound upgrade 8.4 no alpine

If you've never dealt with Crutchfield, their tech support is quite good. I would be inclined to just call them. They generally know their stuff. (I also might need to know this stuff at some point, but it's way down my list of priorities, so I haven't bothered, yet.) Good luck.

    5.7 Hemi - 87 or 89 Octane

My opinion is that our trucks may run a bit better on 89 than on 87, but there is no harm in using 87. I'm basing this on the fact that my truck didn't seem to have quite as much power, "hammer down", when I filled up the tank with 87. I'm speculating that the engine controls detected a bit of...

    Alpha Obd or Taser DT

This was answered for me elsewhere, but I'll add it here, too. The PIN is not required to alter the BCM. It is required to modify some other things. I purchased AlfaOBD, the SGW bypass, and the OBD interface, and was able to turn on my trailer brake controller and theft alarm. Still...

    Dog hair

I blundered into this by accident, while cleaning a carpet, three trucks ago. If you are one of those people who does mechanical stuff, and you use blue nitrile gloves, give those a try. Put on the glove and just wipe across the carpet. The dog hair will just pull up, and roll up.

My Ram is SO MUCH more enjoyable to drive now!

I have had mine since June, and don't really notice a throttle delay. My gas mileage also sucks, but that's a function of how much fun I'm having. :D

Mopar all weather vs husky floormats?

We bought Weathertech for both of our Honda vans (2009 and 2019.) My Ram came with the heavy duty Mopar mats. The Weathertechs are quite good (can't speak to the W-techs for the Ram) but the Ram mats are outstanding!

    New requirements on builds

Sorry you got drilled. I wouldn't sweat the shavings too much. The gas running out probably would have removed most - if not all - of them. The rest are probably so large that the pump "sock" or at least the fuel filter will get them.

2020 Limited - Thoughts on this pricing

Keep pushing. IMHO, you ought to be able to get a lot more off, even for an order. Look at the dealer's website, and see what kind of deals they are offering for "in stock" vehicles that are equipped similarly to what you want. They ought to be able to come close.

    Amateur Radio (ham) install

Always interesting to see peoples' 2-way installs, as well as how much the tech has advanced, over the years. I never bothered with a HAM ticket. I worked for Motorola for ten years, doing commercial and public safety radio, and then went to work for the power company, also doing radio and...

    What's your "windows down" configuration?

Okay, I'm glad it's not just mine. (Not that I'm glad that it's bugging anyone else.) Last time I heard a racket like that was in an old VW bug, with the sunroof open and the windows up. THRUMMMM!!!

Rain Sensing Wipers (Not equipped but have the part)

Good info about the rain sensor already being present. I'll have to give it a try. FWIW... I believe the outside air temp sensor is in the driver's side outside mirror. (Think I read that elsewhere on this forum.) If I park my truck in the summer sun, I will see absurdly high outside temp...
