    Oil Change Intervals

I took my truck to my local Sunoco Express Lube (owned by a fellow gearhead friend of mine), for it's first oil change. Was around 4000 miles. They told me to go away, and not to come back before 7000. (Oil life monitor still showed a very high percentage.) When I finally went back, at around...

Best way to clean the stock rubber mats?

Perfect! Thanks, all. (No substitute for knowing WTH you're doing. :D )

The New chevy is growing on me ...(just sayin)

Without having read through all of the comments... I don't like the new Chevy. At all. I like the GMCs even less. When I bought my '19 Ram, a 2018 Chevy would have been a consideration (and would have saved me a bunch of coin) but they were all gone by the time I was ready to purchase. I'm not...

Best way to clean the stock rubber mats?

My thoughts, exactly. But how do you take them out? I've got large plugs, with a small plug in the middle. Figured the small plug was a pin that "unplugs" from the large plug, but I almost broke my knife trying to pry it up. Found this thread, doing a search, so pardon if it's explained...

    Which one?! Help!

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've got a Big Horn 4x4 with Sport package. I'm very happy with it.

    Thoughts on SiriusXM renewal?

This is exactly the information I was looking for. And, sadly, it's pretty much what I expected. I've really enjoyed my SiriusXM, since I bought my truck in June, but their business model blows goats. If I could get a subscription for a reasonable amount of money, and, most importantly, not...

Lowered the rear 2" last night.

I've been towing a "smaller" box trailer for the past few weeks, with no difficulty at all. I haven't even installed my bags, yet.

    Adding Sales Code Options

You'll need AlfaOBD, an Android or Windows tablet (or other non "i-product" device), a Security Gateway Bypass module, and a Bluetooth interface to plug into your OBDII connector. I have enabled my trailer brake controller and security system with the above pieces. Edit - Sorry. Never heard of...

    Carpeted Wheel Wells

You probably could accomplish the same thing with spray-on bedliner material.

    Super loud exhaust mod

I was gonna say "Flowmaster with turn-downs", but yeah... either way. That's why it makes your eyeballs vibrate. Once that's connected back to the stock resonators (the ones in the back) it should tame the "thrum" quite a bit.

Only 6.5 mpg towing enclosed trailer!

Last weekend I towed a 6X10 blunt nose box trailer about 100 miles. (Empty, one way.) It knocked my average "estimated" MPG down to 12.X in fairly short order. Average stayed there until I refilled the tank, and reset. Using manual calculation, I got 13 and change, on that tank. I normally get...

    "Them that has, has trouble"

I respectfully disagree. I like my backup camera, and I wish I had blind spot detection, but you can keep all the rest of the "nanny-ware". I have no use for lane departure alarms (or correction) or adaptive cruise control, unless they can be easily defeated. I actually drive my vehicles. I...

Has anybody added the factory intrusion alarm system?

Konrad nailed it, on both counts. Just Android and Windows. (If you can find a windows emulator that runs on iPad, it might work, but I'm not suggesting that. Can't vouch for its operation, since I don't speak i-language.) The required hardware is a bluetooth OBD2 adapter of some sort, and the...

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

I have 3.92s, and the best mileage I've seen (calculated at fill-up) was 16.9. The worst was in the 13s. The worst included a lot of idling and stop-start driving on the farm. The best included a lot of steady speed driving (and a lighter foot, once the "novelty" of the Flowmaster wore off. :D...

Traction Control Partial Off & Fully Off

Good info here. I learned something. When I switched into 4WD-Auto, I was able to disable the Stability Control and Traction Control completely, by holding the switch down - probably about five seconds. Once I got to about 40 MPH, ESC would re-enable itself. When I slowed down, it would...

Naaah. I can't leave anything alone. Says the guy with the V8 Fiero in his garage.

Traction Control Partial Off & Fully Off

I have a 2019 Big Horn Sport, 4x4. I have held the traction control button for quite a few seconds and never got to the "second stage" whatever that is. I have to assume that mine is not equipped.

What's the No. 1 thing that disappointed you the most about your truck ?

THIS! If anything, FCA is surviving in spite of its dealer network (and service practices.)

Stock sound upgrade 8.4 no alpine

Most everyone in this thread is only talking about upgrading speakers. There are so many "truck functions" integrated into the stock headunit, that replacing it will likely cause you to lose a great deal of functionality. (At least with the stock 8.4" and 12" headunits. Not sure about any "base"...
