I like it!
One thought: pull that mirror cover off and dremel a small hole for the V1 wire. Make it a half-circle, right where it is against the glass. FWIW.
I had some time yesterday, so I drove the truck up the same road. Sure enough, I got the same error. Again. within a tenth of a mile of the other 4 times it hit. Based on conversations with the service director and at his request, I drove it to the dealership in "limp" mode. (Without resetting...
No. Dealer pushback.
Says the recorded P00AF code is not sufficient. Admittedly, the two incidences show as one "blip". I shall make it occur again and then limp it in.
I've got a tall sitting height. I am very happy with my Blendmount for my V1G2. (Regardless of which mounting option you go with, I -highly- recommend the free JBV1 app. It's free, but I donate to Johnny Boy, the developer, every year.)
Thanks. The P00AF code (and symptoms) made it very clear it was the turbo dropping out.
I'd rather have a turbo fail than my HPFP grenade my fuel system. Of course, I'd also rather have a CP3 than a CP4 (modified) as a HPFP. ;)
Update:
Not liking the dealer response.
Recap: I drove up Fancy Gap, got the P00AF failure. It is dangerous. Finally found an exit, cycled the ignition, and repeated my journey, I-77 Fancy Gap northbound. It failed again, exactly the same.
I cycled the ignition, the failure was "cleared"...
Update.
With normal daily driving, I've had no issues.
Since the P00AF/turbo failure occurred on a steep road, I decided to try the same road again.
I took the truck up the same route (I-77 North, Fancy Gap) and on the 7-9% slope...same failure, at about the same spot. (Difficult location, no...
2 purchases:
In 2021 I gave up $500 in incentives for 0% over...7 years (?).
In 2022 I gave up $1,000 in incentives for 0% for 5 years.
Both loans were right about $25,000. I'll let the advanced ROI whizzes figure out what my APR was (and, yes, please include inflation...because that's what I...
Yeah, I put a very similar one in a few years ago. Let me look and see if my thread is floating around... Catch Can for the ecoDiesel without throwing codes?
From T&S Speed shop, but it looks identical?
Ok, it happened. Driving up a mountain pass (Fancy Gap, I-77, VA/NC border), at speed, I got some error messages and a check engine light. "Service Electronic Throttle Body" and "Service Electronic Stability Control". Both associated lights illuminated as did the MIL/CEL.
Truck drove, but with...
Well, if you tell them there is an issue with warranty and want to see/record the HPFP being pulled, and then have it examined, that should show what failed. (Hard to think anything could've caused it.)
For that money, consider a lawyer. Blanket the dealer with paper so that you are assured...
About 2,800 miles. Bud Clary in Seattle to North Carolina.
Had a plan to spend about 2 weeks driving, hitting a bunch of national parks and trails...but the wife demanded that she accompany me. With her came her work schedule. So, 5 (easy) days, hitting tourist spots at lunch and early...
Yes. My opinion is changed: it is BETTER than I first thought. :)
I went for all the options (gear control, braking, messaging). I think every ecoDiesel should get this tune. Side benefit? My consumption of DEF has plummeted.
Capacity... Look at page 437 in the owner's manual. It varies from 11.6 quarts (in my EcoDiesel) up to 18.3 for the Hemi.
FWIW, based on feedback above about how the diesel turns the coolant acidic, I'm now planning to do a drain and fill of the coolant once a year (about 10,000 miles).
Obviously, the fan shouldn't run if the coolant is too cool. (The exception being if AC is on, to pull air across the condenser.)
If the sensor is bad, it could be completing the fan control circuit when it shouldn't, causing the radiator to be too cool.
My thought, if the thermostat is stuck...
