Make sure CarPlay isn't restricted in Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and confirm CarPlay is enabled. If that doesn't work go in to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your Car, followed by Forget This Car
Then go in and set up carplay for the truck again...

I've driven Toyotas (late 90s model), F-150s (90s and 2009), Silverado (2018 2500), and the current 2019 Ram 1500. With regards to looks, I've always like RAM's front end and their interior was the best imo.

I have done something quite similar quite a few times :D I've also used a small ladder (feet butted up to the wall) to form a triangle to stabilize the longer ladder.
At 60 mph on somewhat hilly and twisty 2 lane highway I get 21ish mpg for a 50ish mile trip one way. On the short drive to/from work for a week I average 16 mph with about 80% of that on the freeway at 69 mph (69 because I'm still a little immature :D ) If I stick to 66 mph I can get almost 18...
