The dealer showed me how to reset the 8.4" display. Push and hold the two physical control buttons for 10 seconds with the engine running. It reset. However, he first tried it with the engine not running, that didn't work. It's been working fine since.
Depends on what I want to add to it. Also, the relay isolates any device from whatever that particular connection is used for. It's always best to use a relay between any device and the battery.
Well almost, it tells me to turn the switch to run or start the engine. And that is all except for a lean menu at the top and bottom. It does recognize the android app, but will not load it. Tells me to turn the ignition on when driving down the street. Is there a way to poke it or take it...
An update: I cannot find a wiring diagram that I can decipher and since I don't know how much current I can draw from that spade lug, I'm going to put a relay in. Just use the spade lug to control the relay. It's close to the battery and I can draw current from the battery and not have to...
Thanks. I can get gas at the same station and get mpg that varies 1 to 1.5 mpg between pumps and between 20 gallon fill and 10 gallon fill. I'm leaning toward thinking that the mpg states quoted by the manufacturer and what we get when we calculate it are affected by commercial fuel pumps...
Well, John, someone was getting annoyed and hateful. How can I ask why if I don't mention it? When I say I only asked for information, I was obviously referring to my original post. Just trying to figure out what I did. I used the plural they to try not to target anyone. However, the...
I am genuinely surprised at the angst I've created by asking about the mpg calculation. I'm not and have not questioned anyone's answers. Any information can be useful. Anyone's information is welcome. If I ask for an explanation I'm not denigrating you. I have asked for explanations when...
John, all I asked for was information. You are welcome to accept, or decline to answer, that is your right and no one else's. I respect your rights. If you don't want to answer, just don't, but I will be the judge of what I want to learn and what I want to do with it. I would like to know...
I wasn't questioning your knowledge or what you said, I just didn't/don't know what you are talking about. Sorry if you don't want to answer my questions.
Certainly, the programming is in fact a mistake, but the computer is correct. Computers don't make mistakes. I meant this post as information gatheiring on my part, I did not anticipate people getting annoyed and hateful. I'm NOT talking about you.
If I want to understand what is actually happening it does matter. Certainly, the center console mpg calculator does not use the actual total miles driven divided by gallons. But it also is based on some repeatable and consistent parameters. The computer doesn't make mistakes, it does what it...
Again, please tell me where to see that information. And what pulsewidth are you talking about? What do you mean by sprayed? The computer can calculate in many ways.
I misspoke. I meant to ask where you got the information that the MPG calculation used injector pulse width, almost every engine sensor, engine load, and RPM.
I know the dash will not be the same as the actual miles divided by gallons. That's what I said. It is figuring the MPG a different way. I can see this simply because it will change quickly depending on various factors. And I was wondering why it is designed that way. It's just not designed...
I am not trying to be a horse's butt, but where did you get this information? And a clarification on my part. I meant that the dash mpg indication is not using past idle time. Just that within a few minutes.
This is sort of a "I think" post. Just asking for comments.
Observing the miles per gallon indicator on the dash it changes easily. Since I have not reset the indication for several thousand miles the mpg indicated changes too much for the calculation to be total miles and total gallons used...
It has worked fine so far. I am just running the traffic cam now, but may add a cig. outlet and usb for the rear seats. I see no reason it should not work. I may try to trace it back to its keyed origin.
