If I were to buy a set of tow mirrors that came off a limited that HAD heat (mine does not), what else would I need to do to get the heat to work? I already have tow mirrors that aren't heated. Anyone know if I could just plug them in and be done?
I found an older model Rebel in a parking lot...
@gybob - you already had heated tow mirrors with blind spot and now you have heated, power-folding 6x9 mirrors with blind spot? I understand the Limited tow mirrors have heat whereas for some reason (I am getting mad just typing this) my Rebel tow mirrors are unheated.
Also, please confirm if...
I was trying to figure out the issue, but this kind of explains it for me. The mirrors tilt down in reverse for better street view then return to driving position in P or D? Mine definitely don't do this at all.
They don't understand this isn't an upgrade. One would assume if you are logical that the upgraded mirrors on this package would have the same features as the other mirrors except they would ADD the tow mirror. You would be mistaken and sad to find out you got a larger fish-eye mirror but lost...
Now I am even more pissed off....so much better than the $400 "upgraded" tow mirrors. WTF?
And apparently I can't even add the heated mirrors (but can get everything else) if I pay for an aftermarket solution, which is $1400. I can't even believe this is a thing that can happen.
Obviously a lot of threads about unhappy tow mirror customers. One thing I couldn't find: For the Rebel, I was wondering what those of you who didn't get the trailer tow group have for features on your mirrors.
Do they power fold? Are they heated? I went through all the tow mirrors threads and...
It is so dumb that all the tow mirrors aren't heated. It is dumb that tow mirrors remove 360 and power folding already, but they have to make SOME without heat? Doesn't even make sense.
Completely on board with continuing to pursue this. Some have said this is the buyer's fault, which ultimately is true, but it's just not that simple. I didn't lose 360 as my Rebel doesn't have it, but apparently I lost power fold and heat for a $400 tow package I didn't want. If these were...
I will add my experience to lend to the case that there are more unhappy people than some will let on about this. I would make the assumption that nearly everyone who got the trailer tow group would be unhappy to know they lost heated and folding mirrors to get the tow mirror. Further, upon...
Few answer as I understand it:
1. I don't think you can get the wireless on Rebel at all. It isn't part of the packages, just another add-on like trailer tow group or bed utility group. From what I remember, only certain trims had this option. You could find out for sure by building a Rebel on...
Not sure if this matters, but I had a conversation with the service manager about gas. His take was 87 or 89 only, 89 preferred, nothing more. He said 91+ leaves residue and told me not to use it even if I were willing to pay for it. Don't know enough about engines to know if this is true.
He...
And without the start/stop engaged, I use way more gas than I would have thought. I am sure you all have been in park waiting somewhere idling just watching your average MPG drop. Remote start also uses a ton of gas just sitting there warming up.
At a dead stop and only IF the start/stop is engaged, yes, you use zero gas. However, this isn't always the case. But even if it is, going from zero to 15 MPG repeatedly drops your average is my point. My tires are perfectly inflated (55 front, 45 rear) and I check them every day. Sure, your gas...
All 2WD. Haven't even used 4WD yet. I drive very conservatively too. I have yet to push the pedal to the floor and open it up! I drove today with the fuel economy screen up and you really see how terrible the stopping is. I go from 15-20 MPG to zero then it climbs back up again as you accelerate...
I have 1.5k miles on mine and am getting 10.5 MPG right now with 89 octane (it was slightly better when it was warmer). I drive short distances most of the time with a lot of stop and go at lights and stop signs. When I drive somewhere farther that is still in the city with more significant...
Thank you. I will give my dealer a call. Also, there a typo in the above that you copied from the other thread - it's 08-139-18 for the HCP. There is no 08-39-18. Also, if anyone else is reading this, there a complete list of all TSBs in this forum at...
