Thats a bummer to hear. I've got 159K miles on my 2019 with the Mopar PRB's and not a single issue. Knocking on wood. I do spray the mechanical joints but just occasionally. Temperature never seems to make a difference. Wonder if i'm just getting lucky so far. I do love them though. so...
Well it certainly sounds like we have the exact same problem. I had a mechanic tell me of a non-urgent concern about one of my axles/differentials, but that it was far too early to worry too much about it. I'm trying to reach hime and will advise if this is at all related.
Thanks for the ideas! I don't think mine is ANC related, and I dont have a roll-up, but do have a tri-fold soft cover. I believe I can rule that out too given the miles I've put on with the cover and the nature of the sound going in and out at many different speeds.
As I understand it, it's not just the amount of time that has passed, but the number of start/run cycles too. I watched when walmart installled my AGM and they did 5 cycles in a row and all my lights were out immediately.
Bummer! I wish it were as simple as a dang harmonica...both an easy fix AND and respect for whoever would have done that to me. I may need to use that trick on someone someday soon. In fact, I have a harmonica in my truck as we speak so I am armed.
We both have 2019 Hemi Laramie's...I...
@Pop's Ram, I'm curious if you were ever able to get to the bottom of this noise. My truck has 153K miles and this noise started in the last few thousand miles. It's getting slightly worse as time goes on. I never hear it when idling, which is often, and it exhibits no similarity to a bad...
The sound you describe sounds exactly like a cracked exhaust manifold, not a cam/lifter. Certainly could be either, but I'd surely verify before spending that kind of money unnecessarily.
It's a bad idea to completely seal an electronic module like this. They need to vent due to condensation caused by temperature. If you are out of warranty then my suggestion would be to get a can of that FlexSeal stuff and spray the surfaces exposed to gravity-induced water intrusion and leave...
This ain't your typical EV startup!! Scout is owned by VW which bought the brand several years ago. VW is sinking billions into a Scout-specific brand new assembly plant in South Carolina. I'm involved in some of the electronics designs with their Michigan site. On top of this, a few months...
Having spent the last 35 years supplying the automotive industry with electronics, I can tell you that you are both spot on! I can easily say that I've never witnessed an automotive engineer design a truly bad product, and I can just as easily say I've never seen such a product actually go to...
As always, towing mileage is far more dependent on moving the wind vs. moving the weight. My tuned ecodiesel got 17-18mpg pulling a loaded flatbed car hauler weighing 6000lbs, but dropped to 14-15mpg pulling my empty 7x12 cargo trailer at <1200lbs. My current hemi gets no better than 11mpg...
Any first impressions on road noise and ride quality? Would appreciate an update after you've had some time on the freeway, etc. I've been pretty set on these as my next set of winter tires and will be deciding soon on when to purchase. I'm also curious about any effect on highway fuel...
