so, just to be clear...I can use AlfaOBD to switch from simple ON/OFF to Hi/Med/Lo similar to the heated seat settings? Do you recall where in the AlfaOBD settings it is?
I'll do that later and post the results...interesting question. I rely heavily on mine due to an autoimmune disease that results in lousy circulation in my hands, among other things.
OP...I know you're primarily interested in higher mileage 3rd gen EcoD's, but I can certainly tell you that there were many many examples of the 2nd gen going well over 200K miles, and even up to 374K miles. The bearing issues of the 2nd gen seem to be fixed in the 3rd gen, so I'd be pretty...
I've never had a moment of trouble with them and we just went through the whole blizzard thing with subzero temps, and driving it a lot...no problems. OP, betting your problem is something simple like a piece of gravel or ice got lodged in the mechanism. Yes there is a fuse...it's in the fuse...
I wanted an all in one solution and though it's bigger than I really wanted I have found it handy for lots of things, even inflating the toys for the boat rather quickly. My fear is the same as your...being out hunting or whatever, without cellular coverage and finding a dead battery. This...
Bottom line...Your're fine towing that amount. If you were to take it on vacation with the whole family you may need to load the boat with some of your luggage though.
Oh, and Eighty got it right...driver is NOT included in Payload rating.
Does anyone have an audio recording of what this sounds like? I'm fairly certain my passenger side started leaking. Also, is there any downside to continuing to drive it while I'm waiting for parts/service appointments, etc?
That seems to me like a really good mileage improvement! I used to get 31mpg HWY on my Ecodiesel and when towing it dropped to 14-ish...so 17 is a great number as far as I'm concerned.
I hate to be the negative guy...but that truck loaded that heavily with options is highly unlikely to have a 1400lb payload. Maybe if you are able to deselect the panoramic sunroof you might get a little closer. I recall seeing very similar builds with Payloads of just over a thousand pounds...
You get into an accident and cause anyone any harm and you are likely uninsurable...your current carrier will drop you immediately. Wouldn't do it. Best of luck to all the people anywhere near you because, frankly, it sounds like you're gonna do it anyway.
Vehicle pricing is market-based...it has nothing at all to do with how much you paid. Just ask the many folks on here that sold trucks they had for years for MORE than they paid. Supply is clearly catching up with demand, and in the case of trucks has likely surpassed it. Anyone that paid...
Nice! Every day I wonder if I should have gone EcoDiesel. I had the Gen2 EcoD in a grand cherokee and put 229K miles on it...ran fantastic. The Gen3 motor is supposed to be largely better. Post a picture by the way!
