It depends what you're buying the truck to do...If you take frequent long trips, towing on long trips or just want to be able to go longer without filling up...then it's worth it.
I'll use my hemi experience as an example with the 26 gal compared to 33.
So, I could get 18 mpg unloaded..that's...
The Severe Gear does have some friction modifier in it. You can run it without the the additive and if you get some chattering then you can add the additive until it goes away.
I have one that I have used on a BMW and Equinox, but never used it with my RAM. I thought the extensions were too expensive and not sure I would be happy with the stability of them. It's also much easier to get a truck off the ground and on jack stands than any unibody vehicle.
As you understand, all oils will protect an engine, the only question is just for how long. It does seem strange that the Motul, which does appear to be mostly Group IV, shows more bearing material wear. I can only wonder if that's due to the "thinning" of the oil and low viscosity you're seeing...
There's some benefits that you can't see though. Over time the cheaper oils may generate some sludge, maybe they collect and form sludge in the intake or on intake valves from PCV. Whereas a better oil has more or different additives to prevent that sludge build up and other deposits.
Actually...
Running different lengths of intervals can also skew the numbers, as does a different duty cycle(which you've already noted).
If this was the first change where you really had a good load behind it then it could just be wearing in the thrust bearings, like they said just something to keep an eye...
I would be inclined to go with what Scram said, the stability and traction control monitors the wheel speed on all 4 corners. So if it thinks the front tires are slipping (spinning faster than the rear) it would apply the brakes to transfer the torque to the rear tires. I would think this would...
The climate will default to the last used settings. However the heated/cooled seats will only come on automatically with remote start as long as it meets the temp criteria.
@devildodge Don't know if you've seen this or not...
Then there's a follow up which I find to be even more entertaining...
Sure, the payload might be within spec...but by how much? Can't be much left with them both in the car. I also find that he's skirting around the whole legality comment...
I usually had mine set 70-72 and the fan would always slow down and vents would change. Of course I had all the windows tinted with ceramic and it helped a lot with how cool it felt in the truck.
I think pricing won't ease up until all the delays/shortages in parts and labor are well clear and new trucks are flowing onto or overflowing dealer lots. I'm thinking it could be a while though because there could be a lot of people that are waiting to buy a new vehicle until shortages and...
I was about in the same boat as you, we bought a TT sooner than we expected but knew the 1500 would pull it for a couple years until we could get a 2500. I never weighed that truck and trailer but plan to weigh my 2500 and the same trailer on Friday, I suspect that I was close to GVWR on the...
The Cummins has the 68rfe behind it in the 2500, completely different from the 8 speed found behind the 5.7 and 6.4 hemi's. I have heard of many complaining of the "dead pedal" that these trucks may have.

Everything is designed to a set of criteria, so the filter is designed to hold the average amount of contaminants from an engine plus say a 33% safety margin. However, these filters likely aren't tested on an actual engine, they use a standardized set of "particles" and run the fluid through the...
