TO HEMI or not to hemi ?

Same here, only with 3.21 and 26 gal tank. The 5.7 is the only recent/current engine in the half ton space that also lived for years in the 3/4 tons, and that was a huge selling point for me.

TO HEMI or not to hemi ?

Ford doesn't put their turbos in the F250 either, they can't handle the duty cycle. Ford engineer is on record saying this to Andre from TFL. Heavy duty trucks put horsepower under durability/duty cycle on the list of "things that matter". Half tons are basically glorified station wagons these...

Does anyone like the new 2025+ tow mirrors?

"dumbo ears" haha. I'd still get them, but they're definitely function over form. I'm just tired of clipping those silly amazon specials over my mirrors whenever I tow which is quite frequently.

    Front end noises

I don't see anything obvious. It's not 100% smooth perhaps but I wouldn't call that "jumping" either 🤷‍♂️ Ok but that was my point, you said "working as designed" in a previous message which is what I disagree with, regardless of what is actually causing the noise.

    Front end noises

The video doesn't show anything to me. You think if I hop in 10 different brand new trucks at the local ram dealer, hold the brakes and turn the wheel, they're all going to make that noise?

    Front end noises

I don't believe so. Mine has started making that noise, it didn't always do that. I notice it going over minor bumps with brakes pressed, same bumps with no brakes pressed and no noise.

    Any update on all this?

Does anyone like the new 2025+ tow mirrors?

All I've read from reviews is that some people find them harder to look past at certain spots than the standard mirrors. They would also have more wind resistance (affecting mpg) than normal mirrors but who could measure that accurately, I'm sure that's not a problem if you're in a rebel anyway...

    Android auto, try this .

That's interesting. Not sure why you need the on/off switch anymore though if you're using the power from the console which as you say turns off with the truck? I might steal your 2 usb cable idea. The switched power cable works but its just yet another thing that needs to be done when getting...

    Rough cold starts

I think you need a new dealer or just find a good independent shop. 91 is how these hemis run best.

    Active Grill Shutter Removal

I've never had a single issue with transmission temps. I even bought the little thermo bypass doo-dad that is being sold by a member on the other forum but never installed it as it just hasn't been an issue. I think the highest I've seen is 180 even while towing. Edit: I guess I read your...

    Service 4WD Error

Try disconnecting the actuator and using brake cleaner to clean the contacts. A number of us have had this error due to used oil dripping down during an oil change and seeping down the harness into the connector.

    Slow Hemi :(

There will always be a faster lawn mower. When you beat the mousy motors you'll find that the EVs are smoking you so bad they can go for coffee between lights and still kick your butt.

    Slow Hemi :(

Say what? The big hemi v8's are putting out 700, 800, 1000+ hp. The problem isn't hurricane vs hemi, the problem is Ram only ever gave us the smallest hemi in the Ram. I say "problem", but really, ~400 hp isn't enough to get you to the next stoplight?

Do I need a transmission cooler?

This forum is mainly for 1500s. You can try Ram Heavy Duty Forum but I haven't really seen people messing with transmission coolers for the 1500 or 2500 when running the ZF 8 speed.

    High manganese in lab results

It could be nothing to worry about, but it also could be wear from cam lobes or lifters. I've never seen more than 2 PPM since my first UOA years ago and that was when the engine was still slightly breaking in, my following 8 UOA's have been 1PPM or 0 which is basically just "noise". Honestly...

    Towing performance

In the days of 3 to 6 speeds the rear axle was far more important, so many people do still favour high rear axles but with todays 8 and 10 speeds its much less of an issue. Ram with the 8 speed in the new 2500 cummins doesn't even shift to first gear anymore, and it only comes with one rear...

    Towing performance

I second @John Kloehr 's comment about running premium gas. Yes the manual says 87 is acceptable, but I tow with 91 and the difference is noticable, not only in power but in far less ping from the engine when running above 3000 RPMs. Night and day for me.

    Towing performance

You only get increase in torque from first and part of second. You can't separate the rear axle from the transmission gear, and if you do the math both trucks have very similar final gear ratios to choose from outside of 1st in the 3.92 and 8th in the 3.21. Speaking for myself, towing off the...

Travel Trailer towing question, I apologize if it has been asked to many times.

Yes, there are 3 different settings though I forget how to access, probably in uconnect somewhere. Something I setup once and never touch, whereas the gain can/should be adjusted according to road conditions. These 3 different settings affect how fast the gain is ramped up IIRC. The diff fluid...
