I know of lots of wacky engineering that precludes any reasonable access to things like spark plugs. Similar to the cat guards I made for my truck that now severely limit access to transmission fill plug... I did this to myself!
Thanks for posting the pan upgrade link! Was under the truck today and noticed weeping and signs of an impending leak around the transmission pan gasket and a few bolts. So PPE - More fluid and serviceable?! Take my paycheck please.
I now have 112 days with NO capricious drops into neutral while driving. So far so good. All I did was thoroughly clean the TB of all the gunked up residue, replace the O-ring, and then later installed an OCC.
I want to thank Kicksnare for suggesting it!
Hope no one has been harmed by the...
Hello everyone! I now have 96 days with no drops into neutral after cleaning my TB. It has been driven in 40degF to 95degF temperatures. Hope everyone that hasn't had this problem resolved is safe out there.
Yup, my non-air ride rebel has about a 1/2" space (at most) between the 275/70R18 tire and the UCA. And here is a lovely photo of the measurements of a RAM Rebel wheel, enjoy!
I'm a tad late, but was poking aorund the Forums and saw this thread, and I had my Rebel wheels off to try some other rims and took this photo of the back of a Rebel Rim. RAM thoughtfully placed all measurements on the back of a spoke.
Checking in with my neutral-drop support group, I now have 69 days with no neutral-drops after cleaning my TB. I also recently installed an OCC to hopefully prevent the frequency of cleaning the TB. The TB is held in place by screws with real coarse threads, (think wood screw threads), that...
It appears that dealerships have not been able to fix the transmission throwing itself into neutral gremlin. There must be lots of trucks where this does not happen, what is different about them? Maybe it's time for folks to start making vehicle safety reports to the National Highway...
Well that is super crappy! I had (maybe still have) the capricious drop into neutral while driving. I cleaned my TB and it's been almost two months with no neutral drop gremlins, it used to happen a couple times a week. This has also not worked for other folks. What mileage did it start on yours?
Let's see, with stock cats & exhaust:
Might be a tad louder on WOT, but this is a completely subjective and unscientific observation on my part.
The headers do have the steroetypical "pinging" sound I remember from every set of headers I've put on a vehicle.
Still lays me back in the seat when...
You'll like the JBA's, they permanently solved both of my split-down-the-middle exhaust manifolds. Maybe RAM can start installing pillows that pop out of the head rests when the CO reaches levels that cause the ole' sleepy time in the truck cabins! Let us know how the headers work out, and if yo...
No cover, just a well used tailgate, in dirty/dusty conditions. I soaked the latch mechanisms with a penetrating lubricant, let them soak for a bit, then blew them out with compressed air. After that, they got a healthy dose of white lithium and they are unlocking consistently now. Might replace...
The best fix I found was, to not drive the truck ;). Cleaning the TB seems to be a mixed bag of results, I have almost two months of no drops into neutral after cleaning the TB. Other folks cleaned their TB and it immediately drops into neutral after the cleaning. After reading and re-reading...
