They won't be changing it back. This new architecture was designed to support self driving. No way they will go backwards. And this architecture was already implemented by other FCA vehicles like the Jeep.
I replaced my C3 with a C3X after it died. I've heard that there is a fuse to check. There is a wiki on it. But I didn't know it until after I did the trade in.
This is how mine is now. I've not worked on it yet, but I think it needs lubbed up. The rear tire just sprays it with water when it rains. It probably is a little gunked up.

Probably not going to happen. No one has figured out how to add stuff to the 2025+ vehicles because of the new canbus architecture. There is no way to make changes to the BCM which might be required.
