I used a Banks on my 2016 6.7 Cummins. It worked great. Banks points out the potential major problems with the Pedal Commander. Having used several Banks products over the years I trust what he says and like his products.
I watch a fair amount of YouTube automotive news and as @lonepeak stated above they all have problems; Toyota especially. I'm about to turn 4,000 miles on my 2025 Rebel and aside from the light throttle surging, she runs great. As far as the cold high idle, which seems excessive, it's consistent...
So my worst MPG calculated by hand is 16.9 mostly highway at 75 MPH with four people and two dogs and our stuff. Some wind. Best is 17.9 at similar speeds. I suspect in summer weather with low wind I'll get 18-19 mpg. Again, not terrible considering I'm only paying for regular and moving 5400lbs...
I've got a different electrical thing that happens where it seems like the pedal position switch is being engaged even though the pedals don't move. Does it every time. I'll try to remember to take a video of the sound and post it here.
You can watch the TFL video where the oil pressure went to 19 PSI an then was stable in the low 20s which is completely normal for this SO engine. The oil temps were completely normal too and frankly the TFL guys should have caught that. Had they really been concerned about an oil PSI issue then...
So my 2012 Audi S4 oil temps run at 230-235F at highway speeds. My assumption is that the water temp, which I can't monitor, is darn close to that. It's a 3.0L Supercharged 90 Deg. V-6. Obviously, not moving nearly the same weight but I've done oil sampling over the years and they've been...
Yesterday I towed my boat and trailer, about 6000 lbs and I locked out gears 7-8. At 55 MPH in 6th gear it towed great. Seemed like it had plenty of power running just over 2200 RPMs I think.
The engine does not like light throttle. Has a surging problem under constant light throttle like the tuning isn't refined. There are no CELs, though for mine. Almost 1800 miles; mostly highway. Also, at idle, which is about 650 RPM, I've got a whistling noise that originates from the passenger...
We just completed a 500 mile trip at 75 MPH, 4 people, two dogs, plus gear. So figure about 600lbs of people and gear. 17.59 MPG calculated by hand. By myself going 80 MPH on the reverse route of this same trip I got 18.3. 420 HP engine pushing a 5400lb vehicle...that seems about right. Also I...
I have noticed the light throttle surging a bit after ya'll mentioned it. I paid attention to it more. I don't think it does it every time and mine seems to be very slight although not super noticeable. I am willing to bet that we are all just more in tune with what our vehicles are doing and...
You know I just got my truck back from PPF and ceramic coating and I too just noticed a whistling sound which sounds like it's coming from the passenger side. I assume it's some sort of vacuum leak from the turbos' plumbing somewhere. Who knows. Until it throws a light there's no way to tell.
Y'all have me curious now. I'm going to start my next road trip on 87. I'll document if I notice any misses or knocking. If I do, I will run 89 and do the same thing, and I'll bump to 93 to see if that makes it "a happy camper".
Well, it's as good as an I-6 is going to sound. Personally, I own 3x V-8 cars. One Hellcat and two classics. I could care less that this thing doesn't have a 5.7 Hemi (which really isn't a Hemi).
