I think you should start with setting the amp gain.
I'd set the crossover on your amp to around 70-90 hz. Drop the bass on the head unit EQ to flat. If the amp remote is a bass Boost vs a volume knob, I'd set it 0. If it's a volume knob turn it full. Turn the head unit volume to about 75%...
I calculate or about .80 cf given its 5/8 mdf. So you're about 20% off the 'optimal' amount. Pink fiberglass insulation is worth a shot imho. Also, in box that is undersized, you'll typically have to over power to allow the sub to do what it is intending.
What is the power output on that amp...
Are you quite a ways off on your box volume? That could account for the lack of output. I was a shade short on my box as well and just didn't quite have the punch I was looking for. I read a lot about poly fill and came across very interesting studies in materials. Long story short, I picked...
No problem. Glad to help. Have fun shopping! Feel free to ask if you have more questions.
P.s. the sub will make a world of difference for you.... Really adds a lot to the system.
Even though technically it's 2 speakers in one, I've never once seen a description of a set of two way speakers marked "two pairs of speakers". I get it... It's a 2 way speaker with 2 drivers in one chassis, but nobody, not even in the audio industry, refers to that as 2 speakers. It's a single...
The amppro will get to the audio signal and also has a subwoofer volume knob for fine tuning. I use mine all the time. Something like a DSR1 may allow for a lot more signal processing than the Amppro if that's your thing. You could also tap into the rear speaker levels and use a line out...
Makes sense. A different sub made a world of difference. What amp and sub you thinking of running?
You don't need an Amppro or DSR1, but they make it easier. I used an Amppro and really like it. Quick install and the sub level remote is very very handy.
I know exactly what you are saying. It's good but has it's flaws. Wish there was something it there that allowed us to highjack the amp and tweek. I assume all of the factory software and processing is done there.
Glad you're soundproofing went well. I can imagine it's like an isolation...
I had a 2010 f150 and it was rusting on the rocker panels. Live in cold climate with constant road salt and park in a heated garage so my vehicle was/is continually wet in the winter months from snow and slush. I went to an auto body guy and he said that's was the problem spot for Fords. Rams...
^^^Exactly this. I found it easiest to give a quick but small pull vs grabbing and pulling hard. Sort of like using a hammer... The short sudden acceleration is better than the brute force.
I started on the bottom front of the panels. A quick pop and off the started to come. Work your way...
