    Alignments

I think someone is (was) confusing a 1500 with the 2500. A couple of years ago Ram made a change to the 2500 steering linkage which proved to be problematic. In the TSB that addresses alignment there is an instruction to apply a small bead weld to the linkage coupler to prevent it moving...

    Oil change for 5th gen

I get the same "free for life" deal under the Premium Care program, which is based on one per year. But that is one free oil change every 10,000 miles. For me I usually exceed 10,000 in a year, so everything after 10K is on me. Best regards, Dusty 2019 Ram 1500 Billet Silver Laramie Quad Cab...

    Oil change for 5th gen

Nope! Best regards, Dusty 2019 Ram 1500 Billet Silver Laramie Quad Cab 2WD, 5.7 Hemi, 8HP75, 3.21 axle, 33 gallon fuel tank, factory dual exhaust, 18” wheels. Build date: 03 June 2018. Now at: 052813 miles.

Just got back from dealer for first oil change and alignment check. Opinions?

I have a feeling you're right. Knowing how people in general are, the price of PUP might scare them away permanently. As an aside, I checked Walmart and my nearby AutoZone yesterday. Neither had any blend of PUP. Best regards, Dusty 2019 Ram 1500 Billet Silver Laramie Quad Cab 2WD, 5.7 Hemi...

Water under passenger floor board area

Nice picture and good solution, but your valve cover is dirty! Bests, Dusty 2019 Ram 1500 Billet Silver Laramie Quad Cab 2WD, 5.7 Hemi, 8HP75, 3.21 axle, 33 gallon fuel tank, factory dual exhaust, 18” wheels. Build date: 03 June 2018. Now at: 052719 miles.

    Oil change for 5th gen

I get the Premium Customer service at my dealer, and as SDRebel has said, I pay the $20-25 difference for full synthetic oil. They normally use a off-brand oil filter, too, but I insist on the Mopar MO-899 and they do not charge me extra for it. Best regards, Dusty 2019 Ram 1500 Billet Silver...

Broke truck...door panel, rattles, noise driving, tires shot after 39K. Lemon of a truck. Need to talk to RAM

From what others are telling me, 39,000 miles on a set of tires is probably about average nowadays. My last two Rams averaged about 40-45k miles with Firestone and Goodyear tires. My current 2019 has 52K+miles on Wrangler Fortitude HPs and and I still have about 20-25% wear left. Your dealer...

Does 2020 Ram 1500 still has AC not cool enough problem?

It may have been a design flaw as you say, but the published specification was and always has been 45 degrees F. at 70 degrees ambient. That spec is in the service manual. Regards, Dusty 2019 Ram 1500 Billet Silver Laramie Quad Cab 2WD, 5.7 Hemi, 8HP75, 3.21 axle, 33 gallon fuel tank, factory...

Does 2020 Ram 1500 still has AC not cool enough problem?

“I can tell you as a Dodge person my entire life, if something happens to a Dodge, the whole world hears about it. If it happens to any other brand no one hears about it! Always been that way.” – 2012RAM1500RT - (quoted without permission) I have an early 2019 and I measured mine at 41. Will...

Ceramic Coating after two weeks question

I had the Ziebart Diamond Gloss applied and all I was told was don't wash for 24 hours. Regards, Dusty 2019 Ram 1500 Billet Silver Laramie Quad Cab 2WD, 5.7 Hemi, 8HP75, 3.21 axle, 33 gallon fuel tank, factory dual exhaust, 18” wheels. Build date: 03 June 2018. Now at: 052717 miles.

Just got back from dealer for first oil change and alignment check. Opinions?

Pennzoil makes a Premium Full Synthetic and an Ultra Platinum Full Synthetic (PUP). The CDJR dealers around here have 500 gallon tanks of semi-synthetic oil that is specifically blended for CDJR vehicles by an oil supplier in Buffalo, NY. My neighbor, who is a Ford tech, said his dealership has...

TSB #24-001-20 A/C Fix. Has anyone had it done yet? Plus are you happy with the results?

I think you'll find that many manufacturers set the AC performance specification in the 40-45 degree F range. Like most things they set a spec that will accommodate slight differences in production components. Interestingly, as I was checking some of the auto repair manuals I have, I found the...

Water under passenger floor board area

Yes, of course I may have one of the older DTs as it'll be three years old next month. Best regards, Dusty 2019 Ram 1500 Billet Silver Laramie Quad Cab 2WD, 5.7 Hemi, 8HP75, 3.21 axle, 33 gallon fuel tank, factory dual exhaust, 18” wheels. Build date: 03 June 2018. Now at: 052505 miles.

Water under passenger floor board area

There are a number of ways water could get into the area under the carpet. Someone mentioned that the cowl drains could be clogged, and that would be my next suspect. (I have personal experience with that issue!) There could be another path through the firewall. For instance there were a few...

    MPG computer lies - badly!

The 'average' period continuingly updates from the last reset, terminates and begins a new averaging period at the next reset. There is no selective portion of the average miles used. Immediately after a reset the Distance To Empty (DTE) will be based on the average mpg of the previous period...

Water under passenger floor board area

I don't either. Most of the vehicles I've worked on have a very similar way of draining water from the HVAC assembly. My last Toyota Avalon was almost identical in design. As long as the drain is flowing water (no obstructions) and the tube extends and clears the firewall, draining should be...

Water under passenger floor board area

The drain tube is only accessible by removing the HVAC assembly from inside the vehicle. Regards, Dusty 2019 Ram 1500 Billet Silver Laramie Quad Cab 2WD, 5.7 Hemi, 8HP75, 3.21 axle, 33 gallon fuel tank, factory dual exhaust, 18” wheels. Build date: 03 June 2018. Now at: 052505 miles.

    Leaking rear slider

I would ask your dealer to elevate this, or contact Ram Customer Care yourself. In the past I've not seen too many warranty claims rejected that close to the warranty expiration date. In any discussions, I would advise them that you are aware of number of failures associated with this part...

TSB #24-001-20 A/C Fix. Has anyone had it done yet? Plus are you happy with the results?

I'm sure there's a difference, but it doesn't appear to be the result of the specs changing. The AC performance specifications are the same for 4th gen Rams and even older series Ram trucks. I've enclosed the specs for the 2003 Dakota (AN) as an example which are typical for that era. They match...
