Just to ward off all evil spirits, I reinstalled all 3 original factory incandescent bulbs in the 3rd brake light housing.
I'll see how it goes for a few days. If I get no "key fob not detected" error, I'll consider the console antenna functional.
I wish I knew where in the console it was...
Thanks for posting those.
Now this really has me thinking. I read that there was an LF antenna in the center console.
My center console was replaced by the dealer because they damaged it taking my interior apart to get a bolt out of the heater box that was rolling around in there. Of course...
I have to retract my "new battery in the key fob solved the issue" statement. It did not.
I went to leave for work this morning and there it was: "key fob not detected". For 2 days after changing the fob battery it worked every time. Oh well....
Well, the Diode Dynamics LED is ordered...
Thanks a lot for all the extra trouble you went to posting the screenshot.
I ordered the HP5 3rd brake light. Obviously it works for you without an inline resistor. When i spoke to Diode Dynamics on the phone they expected that I would need an inline resistor to keep the LED from throwing...
Sorry to be a pain, but I have another question.
Do you remember what exact model you purchased from Diode Dynamics?
I sent them an email asking about the 921 XP50 $45. They replied very fast stating that they do not recommend that LED for a 3rd brake light. They said the red lens on the...
Do you remember what LED you bought that did not interfere?
My key fob also has an intermittent "key fob not detected" issue.
It's doing it now more than ever. I changed all 3 incandescent bulbs in the 3rd brake light housing when I first got the truck a year ago. The LED never appeared to...
Okay, so possibly the system is doing what it is supposed to do! When I first tried it, the sound was very loud to the point it sounded like a tire was scraping a fender liner. It's not anywhere that loud now.
I was prompted to try it for the first time after I had the rear ring and pinion...
I did shoot one Sunday, but it is horrible quality and sound. I will place a link below. I'll try to get a much better capture when I get the truck back.
I dropped my truck off at the dealer today to have the rear differential in its entirety replaced.
While I was there, I asked the service manager to go for a ride with me to listen to what I am hearing when the truck is in 4WD Auto. The manager said he would go, but that the noise is normal...
I'm so glad yours is back up and running quietly.
I just dropped mine off today for its service appointment tomorrow. The entire rear differential will be replaced.
I wanted to go for a test drive with the service manager concerning noise that my truck makes when in 4WD AUto. The service...
When the dealer gave it back to me, they knew it still had the original noise at 44 mph. I'm not sure they drove it long enough to hear all the other noises.
They wouldn't replace the entire differential at my request. They were afraid Chrysler would not pay for it. They waited another month...
From the education that I received here in this forum about differebtuals, gear swapping is an art! That was proved to be true in my case.
After the dealer swapped my ring and pinion, my differential made all kinds of new noises at various speeds. It's a real mess currently.
Hopefully the...
Good luck with that.
That's what was replaced in my rear diff originally... Possibly the housing was also bad because it made more noises after the repair. I also think the gears weer not aligned properly.
Next Tuesday my truck goes in for an entire new rear differential.
I'll report back...
I drove a 2018 that I had for a loaner while mine was in again last week. No noise out of that whatsoever. And yes, I would expect a slight binding in a tight turn. Mine makes a loud noise. I'll probably have to go for a ride with them or take it to another dealer. What a pain in the ___...
That's what I thought. The dealer and the area manager are just trying to blow me off. If they would have driven the truck, they would have heard the "cccccccccccccccc" noise that it makes when turning. It's pretty loud. It sounds to me like no or low oil.
Yeah, I think once they heard I tried the system on dry pavement, they never even drove it.
I would never use 4 Hi or 4 Lo on dry pavement. I used 4 WD Auto.
It sounds like my system is defective. The first time I made a tight turn in 4WD Auto, it was so loud, I thought the tire was scraping...
