If you're running 87 in a HO, you are probably voiding the warranty. It requires 91 or better. Since this is most likely a troll post, this should be...boring.
I was curious how well the MPGs would be on a longer distance ride with the HO motor. During my work commute (about 60 miles round trip) I get about 17-18mpg, on the longer trip I was able to get above 20mpg which I'll take as a win given the different tires on the vehicle.
That blows, but IMHO, not driving it was probably the problem. Nothing is being used, it is just sitting. This should have all been fixed under the standard warranty years ago, what was happening back then and why keep going back to the same shops? That said, your situation absolutely sucks, but...
While I wouldn't reserve it for just Boomers, there are plenty that think it is still 1999 and those "Fast and the Furious" kids are out of their minds.
