Looks like they are coming faster now. Just got mine Fingers crossed
FYI I was only in the truck for about 15 minutes. I don't think it's drive time that matters.
I'm really happy to see the CNSC29NFGL units getting the updates. Gives me some hope for my own flawed unit. No more random reboots? Dropping bluetooth? Non-working USB? Fingers crossed
Anyone got a copy of that bulletin? I can't believe that if it applied to our issues the dealers would not have applied it by now. I think they are getting as desperate to fix this issue as we are, as I'm sure they're sick of hearing people complain!
Would someone mind trying the USB #3 connection in the backseat and confirm if you are able to get Carplay up by using that connection?
Wired or wireless, it doesn't matter
So anyone else take the plunge? I'd say I'm 90% happy with mine, and it's far exceeded what I expected based on the fact that it isn't really released for our trucks yet. For the most part, it's worked really well in my day-to-day use.
Not sure how you guys plan to fit this into that slot, but I just don't see it happening.
Rebooted my phone and the media display issues went away. Really pretty solid for a beta product and I've been pleased with the performance thus far.
I found my first real bug, at least in terms of how Carplay is supposed to work. Not a deal-breaker, but interesting:
In the bottom panel, you can display your media. The wired version shows the correct info, and it's missing on the wireless version. It just doesn't show up--the screen says...
Not sure what everyone is talking about, but there is no room for this device to hide. Here is where mine lives right now. I suppose some double-stick velcro would a allow you to put it "under" the head unit.
Quick update: it doesn't look like the rear-seat #3 USB connector is Carplay enabled. I could not get it to work with the wireless dongle, or a direct connection to my phone. If anyone else has the #3 connection in the backseat can you confirm if you are able to get Carplay up by using that...
I removed Uconnect pairing from my phone to prevent issues with the phone trying to connect to multiple Bluetooth connections at the same time. You can always re-add and pair to Uconnect again if you wanted to. Or just plug in to USB and use Carplay the old-fashioned way.
The cable for the...
OK well I guess I owe you all a mini-review!
The part arrived Friday afternoon, so I popped it into the truck as soon as I got home. Pairing was a bit finicky, and the instructions are pure ****e. However, it seemed to connect at first, then it didn't, then it did. At one point when it was...
At the dealer today. They told me there would be no updates--that they could only "reflash" the same software on to see if it helps. Otherwise they will order a new screen to replace it if the problem persists.
I had the backup camera/black screen issue for a while, but haven't seen that...
Well shoot, I've noticed the clunking noise recently, especially on the passenger side and when going down a speed bump... came to the forum and found this. I'll check the TSB/tighen the bolt, otherwise I guess I head back to the dealer. 7 trips there in as many months of owning a new truck...
First update is even though I got the 3-5 business day "express" shipping option, the unit is still no where close to being here. Today I got an email from the website stating they were sold out due to "huge demand" and that the Coronavirus has "paralyzed half of the world freight services and...
Has anyone with the 18.45 gotten an update? I wonder if Ram quietly changed hardware and there is a rev.2x that is getting the 19.33 and beyond. Could we be stuck with the buggy and non-working 18.45 forever?
