I've had Stop/Start on vehicles that was annoying AF.
The Stop/Start on my g/f's Mercedes doesn't bother me at all.
Now, the Stop/Start on my '25 doesn't bother me, either. The only time I turn it off is if I'm at a light where I know I'm going to want to punch it hard as soon as the light...
You're right. My bad!! It was late! I was sick! There was a fire! The cops were bangin' on my door!
LOL!
I do not know (yet) exactly how the Stop/Start on my '25 works compared to how it (and eTorque) worked on my old Hemi.
Does it?
Really?
On an eTorque motor?
My understanding is that the auto-restart (on an eTorque) does not use the starter or the main battery. It uses the battery pack for the eTorque, and instead of the starter, it uses the same generator for eTorque that assists the motor from (engine...
If it only turns off 2 times, why even worry about it? If it was starting and stopping on your constantly, I could see trying to do something about that, but 2 times in the whole drive to work?
Ceramic Pro ION. 7 year warranty. It's a new and improved version of the 5 year warranty coating I had gotten done on my '21. Went to the same place to get it. My '21 still looked perfect (when washed) when I traded it in. And I did NOT really do anything to take care of it. :-\
I checked mine the other day. Even with my seat raised up as high as it would go and the HUD adjusted as low as it would go, the HUD would not overlay the hood. (I have a Sport hood, if that matters, and I'm 6' 1")
The HUD is always displayed so it is overlaying the road, just above the hood...
No worries. In the end, all that matters is what makes us each happy.
I put 265,000 miles on Hemis. I had the exhaust leak repair done at least 6 or 7 times. The motor always seemed like a ... "modest" performer, to me. With poor fuel economy. And, it's loud when it's working hard.
I like...
Exactly. That's why those older cast-iron Harley motors would last SO much longer than the new-fangled Honda motors with aluminum blocks that are making twice the power with 1/3 less displacement.
Superior engineering will never get a smaller turbocharged aluminum motor to last longer than an...
"Half second"?
From what I can tell, comparing Limited or Tungstens (CrewCab, 4x4), the Hemi is good for about 6.4 seconds.
The SST SO is good for 5.0.
The SST HO is good for 4.4.
If the difference was only half a second, I might consider the Hemi again. 2 SECONDS is redonkulous.
A 1500...
I noticed the red light on my fob a few times where it was blinking for no apparent reason. I.e. I didn't press a button.
I haven't noticed my truck lighting up when I approach, but I didn't know that was a thing. I'm going to have to check my settings and test it now.
I think you are probably right.
But, I think the point was that - in your example - you might actually NEED 4x4. OTOH, nobody NEEDS eTorque. So, why have the extra expense, complexity, and additional failure points?
My '19 had it. I had that truck for 73K miles. The only issue I ever had was...
Same motor as before. I think Stellantis is going to end up regretting this move.
It WAS the top dog in the RAM 1500 line-up. Now, it's going to be the 3rd strongest motor, out of 4 choices. And weaker than the Chevy 6.2.
I can't see sales of the Hemi being enough to bring it back for more...
I DO wish my Limited had a 3.21....
But, I LOVE my Ramboxes and Multi Function Tailgate!
When I traded my '19 for a '21, I only had 2 reasons: Getting an EcoDiesel, and getting the MFT. Everything else about the truck was identical and my '19 still had plenty of time and miles left on the...
I agree. But, to me, black wheels on a black truck always looks out of place, too. The black on the wheels never exactly matches the black on the truck. That was one of the reasons I changed wheels on my last 2 trucks.
Chrome. I DO like a little bit of "silver" color. Just not as much as what a chrome grill and window surrounds adds.
On my last 2 trucks, I had aftermarket wheels that were silver/machined and black.
This truck, the wheels are all black - w/chrome lug nuts. Rather than change to black lug...
I like my Limited (w/Night package) better than a Tungsten. I definitely prefer the painted grill and other non-chrome trim.
I would not buy a truck with cream-colored leather. But, I wouldn't buy the Tungsten with black leather, either, just because of all the chrome it has.
My '19, my '21...
