An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Hey Bud, You are definitely on to something when correlating mating habits of truck owners with different drive trains and axles. You talk about an easy choice. That is precisely where the mating habits are born, developed and nurtured. I read from an exhaustive study somewhere that 3.92...

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

I have 4WD, 3.21, but I would be willing to bet that most all truck owners like to mate in dry conditions. I mean, with long dry spells you got to do what you got to do. I prefer flat and softer terrain also, but again, sometimes you have to adapt. 🍆 😂

    must have upgrades / accessories

Yea, most people just put cardboard under their truck instead of installing a catch can.

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Hey hey, this thread is just for making fun of people and their trucks. There is really no room for truck ordering questions or practical thought. Get your mind right. I see you’re from OH, but dang.

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Let’s keep this one going. The 3.55 is just the offspring of the 3.21 Dad, and 3.92 mother. We can fight just like one great blended family.

Didn‘t think the largest and most terrifying carnivore needed a safe place. It just hurts that I don’t have a TRX…. Not practical at all, that’s why I love it.…. Just to **** the woke off.

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

3.21 is actually not the best for a sweet 16 present for their daughter. My daughter wanted a lifted truck with 35s. That is actually what she drives. Your truck reminds me of hers! 🥰

Towing with a lifted Ecodiesel and 3.21 gearing

If you are going to haul and tow, the leveling will be your problem, not the tires so much.

You and MW, just let it out. It feels good to release. Now. Now. Good. I have heard from someone that knows Elon that he is using a 3.21 with a battery in the updated prototype luner rover. For reasons you speak of. Exciting times. Y’all go get some gas. I have to defuel.

    Poor gas mileage

Hey dog, you got that right. Everybody makes mistakes. 👆 There are some that pull numbers out there a$$. Numbers that make people think there is something wrong with their truck. Cruising, momentary mpg and such. You are one of the few probably that talk true numbers 🫵

Good call. Most everyone gets some mpg gains just prior to posting their mileage on this forum also. 🤏

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

I have a stock 3.21 and 3.92, same size tires 3.21 runs 1750 rpm. 3.92 runs about 400 rpm higher at 2150 rpm. I have pic for 3.21 I will post, trying to find 3.92 pic (Son drives the 3.92). Your rebel has 33 inch tires that will bring rpm’s down some.

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Supposedly Truck Trend did a test in 2019 on nearly 2 identical ram 1500 trucks. One was 3.21 and the other 3.92. (Saw some references but could not find actual TT article. 0-60 mph - 3.21 wins slightly 1/4 mile - 3.21 wins slightly with time and speed 0-60 mph (towing 7500lbs) - 3.92 wins...
