Here are my observations: both cooling and heating the cabin, BOTH are VERY flawed, and we should not be forced into doing "hacks" ourselves, this vehicle should perform properly with factory parts/engineering.
HEATING
Conditions. (cold start or full operating temp)
Example 50+- degrees...
one of the biggest issues when talking about this system is that in comparison with the old system (I too had a 2016, which the HVAC worked FLAWLESS), in speaking to the head electrical guru at Cerritos Dodge, is that the system as a whole is all brand new. Why you ask? it is no longer Chrysler...
I too believe there is a blend door issue, but I believe it's tied to several things, such as interior temps vs outside temp, vs target temp (on the screen setting). In my mind, the interior temp sensor is muted or SUPER cheap/slow, and the programing that compares the data to get the desired...
OH WOW, I have the EXACT problem with mine!! Dealer wants to install a new lid and repaint, I said I don't know about that, as the tricoat will never match!!
I share a LOT of the same opinion at Slashhero above. I too have a 5.7L e-torque with 3.92, and honestly the two things I would have not ordered had I known. The 3.92 gears make you feel like you are always driving "fast and furious" a 1/4 mile at a time, which I don't like. The e-torque and...
Not only is the AC not cold as it should be the temperature modulation is beyond terrible, I find myself constantly pushing the temp buttons up and down to try and keep the cabin somewhat comfortable. The funny thing is that heating is just as bad, you can't get enough heat, nor any real temp...
I also have gone to 2 dealerships whom ran tests that came back "normal". I'm a car guy, and I know a thing or two, I can say without a single doubt my 2016 1500 HVAC was PERFECT, actually a highlight of that truck, this new loaded to the hilt 2019 1500 I waited 4 months special order to get has...
OMG, YES YES YES. I have been complaining to the service dept (2 different ones, who say everything is "normal"), also opened a case with FCA, no resolve, but the HVAC system on this truck is SCREWY!!! My old 2016 was PERFECT, this 2019 SUCKS!!
12. If it's desired to raise the cabin temperature by setting the temperatures on HI (or 84 degrees) when in climate control auto mode, the fan doesn't go to a high enough speed to bring temperature up quickly enough even when engine is at normal running temperature. This makes it difficult to...
TOTAL GARBAGE... If anyone has had experience with other brands, I will bring up my Tesla App. The app controls the car INSTANTLY, and I mean INSTANTLY, no waiting, no guessing etc. Set vehicle temps from the app, remote start, lock/unlock, open/close windows and roof, and in comparison, the RAM...
Totally agree, the MDS system needs work to get it dialed in, as in my opinion it's not tuned right, and again in my opinion in some instances dangerous. Low speed MDS engagement is ridiculous as it makes the truck "hiccup" in the transition from ECo?MDS engagement and full power, I've been in...
This will not do me any good, unless there is a "code", the dealership says everything is "operating as designed". This is a flaw BIGTIME, and might become a fatal flaw for FCA....
That's really interesting. The only issue I have is since I have the 3.92's it sounds like I'm always trying to "Fast and Furious" the car next to me, and the throttle is really jumpy/sensitive, the truck lurches becuase of the gearing, so as to not feel like I'm impersonating Vin Diesel I try...
You're not alone, I feel the same thing.. Also what I've noticed is that the MDS engages at the wrong times, and causes the engine to "hiccup" in emergency situations, and is VERY dangerous... Dealer says it's "normal", yeah normal until someone gets killed... The e-torque/MDS algorithims leave...
