2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Yes, but, it’s a balance between being a software company and being a vehicle company. If you haven’t noticed, they really don’t pour resources into the software side all that much. Which is a shame because vehicles are more and more becoming computers on wheels

Which brings us back, full circle to AlfaOBD and our hopes the CAN Bus new architecture can be deciphered and modded😁

Yeah, same with Ford because of the “chip shortage” same $50. But that’s the point. It’s only $50. I guess we’ll see what happens 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nah. It doesn’t turn away customers and they can charge for it. I doubt it’ll go away. There are people who do like it. The ability to say XX miles per gallon is less about EPA and more about wallets. And they’re allowed to fluffy calculate the fuel saving for using it. I think it’s here to stay.

Capitalism. While there isn't a direct law mandating automakers to use stop-start systems, they became widespread due to fuel economy credits granted under federal emissions rules. These credits incentivize automakers to adopt technologies like stop-start that improve fuel efficiency and reduce...

2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

It’s annoying for me for non-light situations, e.g. waiting to make a left out of a parking lot, pulling up to back into a parking space/driveway, etc. It’s not a rough start; in fact, it’s rather smooth. It’s simple the matter that it prevents immediate acceleration. I agree with @RedFred...

I didn’t realize we were talking about A. Hemis and B. eTorques. Yes the eTorque uses the motor/generator to start the engine. I’m not sure which battery it uses but I believe it does use the main battery for starting, the etorque battery only for the torque addition. Lead acid/agm batteries are...

I think the starter and engine can handle it. I think it shortens the main battery life. Starting is hard on a battery

Ditto, all of that. Does anyone else’s N light blink going to or shifting through neutral? Mine blinks twice like.. “I’m getting there, one sec”

Yeah, they can. But it’s only for the current drive. I think the question is to disable it completely

Welp, thanks for being the guinea pig! It does work for those of us without proximity though.

No, but @dgrinstead44 said FB people either have it work and battery issues or not work and OK battery… maybe wish for the lesser of 2 evils until RAM figures it out

You gotta do it after engine shutdown and walk away. I don’t *think* you’d have to wait, just get outta range. Feel free to experiment😁

What happens if you do what I said above? Does proximity work then the next time you walk up?
