Yeah idk the diesel really only shines in towing . It's downfall is it revs slowly and it is insanely heavy. 2 identical trucks one with an engine that weighs 2.5 x as much as the others engine tells me one of those truck will handle much better than the other regardless of any power discrepancy.
The weight diffrence is a lot more than that. My 21 ram 2500 with the 6.7 was 8430lbs with me in it . My 25 1500 warlock 3.0 is 5220lbs with me in it. Both crew cab 4x4 short beds. Most stock SO 6.7 dyno low 300s hp and low 500s tq ofcoarse the torque curve looks completely diffrent on a...
I ran the falken at3w on my last couple trucks and loved them. My wife's jeep has the new at4w on it and they will be what I replace the factory wrangler duratracs with when it's time. If your coming from a lighter highway type tire you'll see about 2mpg. That's what I got when I switched...
The weight of a higher trim is certainly parrt of it though not sure how much. I dont think power is the limiting factor on towing anymore half ton trucks these days have more power than their 3/4 and 1 ton gas counterparts. Frames, brakes , transmissions and rear ends are their limiting...
I'll be adding a s&b intake to my 3.0 hurricane as soon as they are released. The 3.0 is too quiet hopefully the intake will amplify the noise coming from the turbos. I've owned several turbocharged vehicles in the past and every one got either a short ram or cold air intake and it always...
What? You either have a **** tuner or not much experience tuning gassers. Majority of factory vehicles come with very conservative tunes. I've seen up to 30whp just from a tune on a Na V8. Factory boosted vehicles can see even bigger gains with a tune.
I averaged 19.9mpg today on a 400 mile round trip mostly highway @ 70-75mph in 2025 warlock with 3.55 gears. Pretty happy with that considering the heavy factory tires
The HO no doubt would pull better but at the cost of increased fuel consumption. That coupled with the premium fuel requirement in my mind leaves it in a niche market. The SO has more than enough hp for towing duties associated with a half ton pickup. It has more hp and tq then the gas 3/4 ton...
Hooked a trailer to it for the first time. The sst did not disappoint towing almost 5k lbs through the mountains of WV. Will take me a bit to get used to not having an exhaust brake anymore but the brakes and transmission on the 1500 did great!
I have 550 miles now and am really pleased with the 3.0 hurricane. Tomorrow will be interesting plan to take the boat out for the last time this year. It's a 20ft center console roughly 5k lbs. Only going roughly 15 miles to the ramp.
Got a spray in bed liner today. This shop did my last 2 trucks and they use to do linex but have switched brands. Supposedley this is better for the $$$. I looked at a few tonneau covers they had while I waited. From the ones they had on display I liked the undercover armor flex the best.
Nope no flares on the new warlocks which is fine by me . If the tires were out past the wheel wells they would be usefull but that's not an issue on the stock setup.
I dropped the tire psi to 40 front and 38lbs rear and it handled much better and traction off the line was much improved. Surprisingly no low tire pressure warnings on the dash. I ran 50psi on e rated tires on all 4 corners of my diesel 3500 srw pickup when not towing. I'll watch for tire wear...
The warlocks come with 55 front 45 rear seems like complete overkill on a half ton to me. I plan to play around with psi to see what rides the best and hopefully hp tuners will be able to change the factory tpms settings so the light doesn't stay on.
Haven't had mine very long only 350 miles on it so far but had an issue with the 8.4 uconnect right off the bat. It wouldn't allow me to run android auto or Apple car play with a message that date and time were incorrect which they were not. A factory reset luckily fixed the issue.
Greetings from the hills of WV. Recently traded in my 21 ram 2500 6.7 in on a 25 ram 1500 warlock with the 3.0 hurricane. Don't tow more than 7500lbs anymore since we leased the farm back out so not much use for the diesel anymore. Test drove the hurricane one time and was hooked. Anxiously...
