Had my new Ram (with eTorque) for 2 weeks now, and don't know much about the mechanics of the Stop-Start system. It doesn't use the starter??? Then, how does it restart the engine?
just put a hard top and carpet kit in my 2023 Big Horn, so wanted to seal the tailgate. I used the ESI kit that includes some "regular" size foam tubing, and a short length of large size foam tubing. I got everything sealed up except the bottom 1/3 of each of the sides. The gap there was...
I am looking for the same thing for my 2023 Big Horn. The Mopar fenders look nice, but have a Mopar price. I also found them from "Lund". They seem to have a very easy install, and I think that is what I will probably go with.
Thank you for the reply. My 10 year old Jeep Wrangler would let me use my fog lights as the DRL, so I am surprised that doesn't work on my new Ram 1500. I am wondering if there is some other setting that also needs to be enabled/disabled to allow DRL to work with fog lights.
Best I can tell, there are only 2 groups that still use CB radio. The first is professional truckers; And 2nd are off-roaders (Jeepers); though they are moving to GMRS.
I would rather be stuck in traffic than listen to Truckers on a CB. :)
Hello. Saw a post from you where you said something (I think) about installing a new harness for the Tailgate Ajar. I tried enabling Tailgate Ajar on my 2023 Ram 1500 Big Horn, but it did not work. Is there an additional harness that is required? And if so, do you know the Part Number? Any...
Regarding your use of D-Ring Shackles... They are pretty bullet proof, sometimes even stronger than what they are attached to. If they fail, you can end up with a metal projectile coming back at you at very high speed. Many people, including myself, have switched to Soft Shackles (and ropes)...
Regarding the torque values on the Tow Hooks. Bought mine from Mopar, but they did not include Instructions. I looked up the torque values for each bolt based on their diameter and grade. The reused factory bolt is smaller but a higher grade (grade 10.9) than the new bolt that was supplied...
Mileage (money) is always important. :)
I find that my average highway speed is more like 75+ mph, which is what other traffic is doing. So I am thinking taller gears would help mpg.
Also. Living in Kalifornia, I pay about $1.50 per gallon more than other states.
Daylight Running Lights (DRL)...
2023 Big Horn. Already has DRL, but I want to use my fog lights as the DRL. I used alfaOBD to switch the DRL to the fog lights, but it doesn't work. Is there any way to use the fog lights as my DRL?
How about regearing????
My 2023 5.7L hemi came with 3.90 gears. I do a lot of freeway driving, don't tow, and can give up some power.. If I go to 3.50 or 3.30 ( I know those aren't the exact ratios) will I see some improvement?
I apologize for going slightly off-topic here. I already have these mats in my 2023 Big Horn. But my truck is not a "working" truck, and I seldom experience "weather". So, I am looking for Carpet mats rather than rubber mats. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have never had window deflectors on any vehicle. I generally prefer to crack the windows to get some fresh air rather than run the AC.
Just got a new 2023 Long Horn, and the noise and buffeting when I crack a window is horrendous. Do window deflectors reduce the noise and buffeting when a...
Trying to understand Ram trucks, and don't understand what the "classic" means. Are the 2019+ classic models still considered Gen 5? Are the non-classic models just higher trim levels than the classic models? Or are there more substantial changes with Gen 5?
Am trying to understand how a...
