What did you do to your Ram today???

I agree. I thought it might not be to bad but that active shutter was no longer functional and cracked at the top. That piece alone is probably my deductible.

    Driving with broken active shutter?

Hit a small deer on my way home today at 55mph and the truck took it like a champ. Broke the active shutter and seems stuck in the down position. I’m assuming it’s fine to drive, no towing or anything and it’s cold out. If anything I can probably jam it open. What do you guys think? I’m sure I...

What did you do to your Ram today???

Hit a small deer on my way home at 55mph. Took it like a champ. Active shutter seems broken and some sensors but otherwise we are good to go! Now to fork up the deductible and begin the fun process of getting it fixed.....

Ram 1500 GT shutdown while driving almost killed us

Is this standard behavior for the 1500 regardless of engine choice in terms of what happens when the engine cuts out? Id like to know what to expect from the truck when the engine dies, seems to be a mystery and I get difference answers. What should I expect at 70mph if the engine goes.......Id...

Looking to install front tow hooks, what are the options?

I order the same ones in May, so far mine still look new and I've had no issue. The plastic surrounds they come with are definitely "cheap" but they do the job. Getting them on was somewhat of a pain but that was due to lack of knowledge. The large bolts used to hold them in place have a clip on...

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

For those that have had fuel pump failures, were there any signs of any issue prior to failing? Poor fuel economy, power loss, anything? I'm talking the days leading up to the failure. I know some things may be small and looked over but then looking back after a failure it may make sense. I...

How many miles on your Eco diesel?

Honestly don't recall exactly but I want to say it was 3-4$ per gallon. Last time I filled I was low with the "Will not restart" warning after so many miles and I think it was ~$16 to top it off.

How many miles on your Eco diesel?

66k Miles Oil every 7500, fuel filter ever 15k. DEF from the pump at a local Thornton's Station. Never done a drop of any additives. No Tune, maybe after warranty is up. So far so good!

    No more diesel.......

I’d put my money on not being able to order one. Articles stated the production would end in January. I’m sure not to long after the 2023 order banks opened the ED was gone. Either tons of people jumped on them or dealers went crazy to get some on their lots. The people at the auto shows are...

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

Id hope it wouldn't be to sketchy. Whipping that dial sifter into N in a panic situation isn't something I've been practicing hahaha. In a manual its been my natural reaction to just clutch if something is off. Surely RAM has sorted this one, failed fuel pump isn't the only thing that can hault...

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

VW has been great to us since 2012. My buddy had a Touareg that he just beat the **** out of and it was issue free and recently traded it with 160-170k for a 2500 Cummins. The VW fix wasn’t ideal, got our golf tuned and it’s been awesome. Never had major issues but since the fix in the golf the...

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

I received my letter as well and this one concerns me a bit. Ill be rolling 65k miles today and thus far the truck has been issue free. January-April I have 800-1500mile trips planned each month and losing the truck would simply suck. Also.....my truck has never seen a drop of any additives. I...

    2020 EcoDiesel 3.0 Oil Recommendations

Based on what I'm seeing online, it doesn't have that MS-12991 approval so id personally stay away if vehicle is still under warranty. Napa has Pennzoil 5w40 Euro on sale for 7.69qt if you happen to have one of those nearby. Or just order Quakerstate 5w40 from Walmart for $22 a gallon and call...

    Cold weather killing mpg?

Once the stations switch to winter blend diesel mpg goes down a good amount. I'm down probably 3-5mpg depending on how much idling i do. From my experience they typically do this early/mid November.

Interesting YouTube on the Demise of the Eco-Diesel

I haven’t looked recently but when I was buying back in 2020 the ED used was more pricey than a hemi. My thought is what’s going to be worth more once it has 300k, Hemi or ED, neither will be worth much anyway. At the rate in which I accumulate miles I’ll be eating the depreciation big time...

    Concerns with my purchase /payload?

I think the big hitters are MFT, Rambox, Air suspension and sunroof. I initially wanted the MFT and Rambox but with the added cost and weight penalties and decided against them. Looking back....I think id add the MFT as this truck isn't an ideal grocery getter. I feel my truck is pretty well...

Interesting YouTube on the Demise of the Eco-Diesel

I think on paper I have to agree it makes sense for them to ditch it though it kills me to say that. It is a pricey option and though they probably sell a ton of them, its a small percentage compared to all the gassers. One less engine option makes production significantly easier/cheaper...

    Squeak after shut down?

I've had the same thing for a pretty long time but I never considered it an issue. Both my VW TDIs would do this and newer BMWs as well (Gas). Its likely emissions system related. Ill follow this thread, maybe i should be concerned. On my other cars it never turned into anything more but maybe...

    Laramie driver seat question..

Mine look almost exactly the same at 64k miles. I do make sure not to "slide" out. I step in and out. My passenger seat almost looks worse. I'm also not what you call a bigger dude so I'm sure that helps with keeping the seats looking good. So far I'm satisfied with how the interior is holding up.

Trx rims fitment on a 2021 Laramie?

Yes, that was a typo earlier unfortunately. Running stock size from what's on a Bighorn, 275/65/18. With that extra 1'' you should have no issue going with a bigger OD, width is the issue here without spacers. If you go 285 you will be dam close, 295 will likely hit. At the time of buying I was...
